I'm not sure it is correct that Max introduced the term "transhuman" -- wasn't that coined by FM 2030?

What was his given birthname, and wherebaouts in Bristol is he from?

not really important.. but..[edit]

I am hanging out here at work, reading a 55 year old book called The Phenomenon of Man, by Teilhard de Chardin.. and doing some wikipedia surfing, then I come across this artical on Max More, the wierd thing is my wife is about to give birth in the next few weeks, and the name she's picked out is Max Moore. Woohoo!

here's my webpage for any who care www.geocities.com/headbiter Theblacksuperman 07:52, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note, as of 6/11/06 my wife has given birth and Max Moore is now a welcome part of our family, thanks to Max, and Max, and Mom, and my Mom, and Dad, and Her Mom and Dad, and to Max More, who spells his name different, but we are all related somehow. Story goes that the elder Max was so named because he was the heaviest baby ever born at [whatever] clinic. —Tamfang (talk) 06:45, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Age of Consent"[edit]

The same individual has twice posted an excerpt from a single essay that was originally published in 1983 (and revisited by More in 2011),<ref>{{cite web|last=More|first=Max|title=A Self-Critique of Youthful Folly: On Sex, Coercion, and the Age of Consent|url=http://www.libertarian.co.uk/lapubs/persp/persp026.htm|work=Personal Perspectives|publisher=Libertarian Alliance|accessdate=16 May 2013}}</ref> and this excerpt has been posted as a separate section taking up roughly a third of the space of the article. Considering that this article may not adhere to WP:N as it is currently written, the inclusion and relative prominence of an excerpt from an obscure essay written before the countless other essays, articles, and content More has since written is essentially non sequitur and tangential. Are we to post excerpts from every single email or forum post More has ever written? Wikipedia is not an appropriate platform with which editors can arbitrarily elevate specific details to weave a story that is out-of-sync with popular narrative. If the essay in question had generated notable public controversy, the appropriate step might be to include mention of the controversy itself. Otherwise, its inclusion violates WP:BLP and WP:N.
