Dates?[edit]

The birth/death dates "August 27, 1869 – July 26, 1932 Malden, Massachusetts" seem to have been originally inserted by an account associated with unconstructive edits[1]. User:Ediedbdbd changed it to "September 16, 1857, Janesville, Wisconsin – 1944 Volusia, Florida" with a note - (Birth and death date based on US census records, US Emergency Passport Application, #509, Nov. 21, 1921, and family history.)[2]. The "1857, Janesville, Wisconsin" part can be independently verified[3] so I am restoring the remainder of that edit. The rest could use verification. Mayflower descent[edit]

Any source claiming that he descended from a Mayflower Pilgrim named Brown is inherently unreliable because Peter Brown had no sons to pass on his surname. It does not solve the problem to use a more vague formulation because the basis is nothing but the flawed supposition that anyone named Brown descends from the Pilgrim. Likewise, WP:NOTGENEALOGY tells us not to engage in gratuitous genealogy, and the fact that he had ancestors who fought in wars does not inform us in any meaningful way about his life and accomplishments.
