Rapper vs deejay[edit]

It seems this was mentioned in archives discussion, but Sean Paul is a Jamaican dancehall deejay, not a rapper. "Rapper" is a hip-hop designation, and SP is not a hip-hop artist, so I am making the change to the article.--Chimino (talk) 21:53, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this refer to him as "Paul"? That is neither his surname nor his primary given name. It sounds odd.

Language[edit]

"Paul has suggested that Jamaican musicians making use of "hardcore patois", a mixture of English with several languages spoken in Jamaica, create a language barrier that prevents them from becoming successful in the United States and the United Kingdom"

Could this be worded better? My first impression was that Sean Paul was encouraging artists to be less intelligible to US/UK audiences.
