Untitled[edit]

The page previously given as "Dr Wolpoff's web site" is actually an online store and has nothing of value, only advertising for his books. http://www.pro-am.com/origins/multiregional/race.html - I changed it to the staff page at U. Mich. and added ISBNs for the books I could find. -- OlofE

The original text of the article was apparently lifted straight from a web page. The parts that looked genuine, I left. The rest has been cut. -- OlofE

References[edit]

References need to be added to this article. As a matter of fact, this article should be re-written.-Schnurrbart (talk) 05:43, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I believe there may be a problem with the second paragraph in the section entitled "Multiregional evolution and the punctuated equilibrium theory." From the wording, this paragraph appears to be saying that Homo sapiens evolved directly from australopithecine ancestors, rather than indirectly, either through separate species such as Homo ergaster or Homo erectus, or as the latest stage of a chronospecies involving multiple intermediate stages. If direct descent of Homo sapiens from australopithecines is indeed what is being suggested, here, it agrees neither with generally accepted hypotheses regarding the origins of Homo sapiens nor with Milton Wolpoff's multiregional hypothesis. Revised[edit]

I have tried to improve extensively. I hope there is no vandalism. Yes, some scientific interpretation by the original contributor is still ambiguous. I have removed the tag
