Channel 9

WWOR/WOR was a nationally distributed in the US and Canada TV station. For the majority of the time it was refered to as "Channel 9" on air. You seem to be in Ireland, so how would you know about things in the US? The Matt Feldman Experience! 17:18, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

I don't need to know, as in this case, its called WWOR-TV and not Channel 9. Indeed, its branded on-air as "my9", not "channel 9". Its standard to not list channels which call themselves as "Channel #" due to their VHF frequency - please look at Channel 2, Channel 3, Channel 4 (disambiguation), Channel 5, Channel 6 (disambiguation), Channel 7 and Channel 8. There seem not to be pages for any of the UHF frequencies at all, because clearly no channel is actually called "Channel 34" or similar. Many of the stations on those VHF frequencies are on cable or satellite outside their area (actually, I'd guess they're -all- on satellite by this stage), but none are listed. --Kiand 17:23, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

I saw your edits to Dublin Airport. This is the English language Wikipedia, and as a rule, the English language is used in naming. More pertinantly, for organisations such as the airport or the airport authority, names in Irish are translations and not the real name, so they are left out entirely - we don't provide French, German, Spanish or Italian translations of names where is there no official version; and this apples just as much to Irish as anything else.

I don't accept nor agree with your point. You're completely wrong in saying that other languages aren't used for translations on the English wikipedia. You'll find that translations of names into other languages are in thousands of articles in the English wikipedia and articles about Ireland are no different.

In relation to your point regarding the Irish translation not being the offical name, you're wrong again. All government organisations' and semi-state company's names are in Irish or have Irish as part of the official name, the Dublin Airport Authority would be one of these semi-state companies and this is the main reason why I gave the Irish translation, so my changes to the Dublin Airport website will remain.

I can't allow young children to see it, others might be offended by it.

That is my belief. I can't afford to see any of that foul language here in Wikipedia. I believe that Wikipedia should be free from foul language, and I really don't think that use of foul language should be permitted. That is why I was forced to revert it. Cuss words shouldn't be used in Wikipedia whatsoever because there are some Wikipedians that MIGHT BE OFFENDED by the foul language and I can't allow it to happen. I had to reprimand the user for using a cuss word in the Sennheiser Talk page because of the foul language being used. I am fiercely detesting your last comment because I stand behind not putting foul language here in Wikipedia. Reason for removal of your comment from my talk page

The reason why I had to remove your comment from my talk page is because the user who used a bad word at the Sennheiser talk page was abusing the No Censorship policy privilege, and that "No Censorship Policy" doesn't clearly mean that people can use foul language, and I really disagree with your views. Even Wikipedia is NOT censored means that people has to do this in good faith, and respect the No Censorship Policy as a privilege. What I had to do at the Sennheiser Talk Page IS NOT vandalism—it was a sign that someone was abusing the No Censorship Policy, and I really believe that Bad Language is NOT covered under the No Censorship Policy, so vehemently, that comment at the Sennheiser Talk page had to be deleted due to the fact that it was abusing the No Censorship Policy privilege. The last thing I want to do is to start a flame war and/or personal attack, and I did NOT invoke any personal attacks, though I might disagree with some of Wikipedia's views at times.

Irish channels licences

I just thought I'd let you know that I was counting Irish channels to mean ones which are operated by Irish compnaies or are targeted at Ireland only; and are in Ireland. Therefore the entirety of this:

Then theres Bubble Hits and formerly Channel 6 too. There are also the Irish services of the Viacom channels:

1. MTV Ireland
2. Nickelodeon Eire
3. Nick Jr. Eire
4. Paramount Comedy Ireland

And Sky's:

2. Sky Sports One
3. Sky News Ireland"

...would all be discounted as the second 2 lists aren't inside Ireland or owned by Irish companies (I don't think they'd qualify as Irish by any reasonable standards) and AFAIK the top list is mainly UK-targeted. By any means extremely is a bit of an innappropriate word to use in an encyclodpedia (e.g. how high a percentage qualifies as extreme). And btw, since when is there are Nick Jr. Ireland? Proposed deletion of Kylemore railway station

The article Kylemore railway station has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject fails WP:GNG. The only sources here (and seemingly the only sources anywhere) are trivial passing mentions. Where the conditional potential for the subject to exist is only mentioned in passing. A PowerPoint presentation where four words appear ('Potential Station at Kylemore'). A politician's press release where one word appears (and is bound up in so much conditional speculation as to be useless). And a passing mention in a news article (since superseded by other events). The subject here falls short of WP:GNG, WP:TOOSOON, WP:CRYSTAL and any number of related policies.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
