His Adopted Daughter[edit]

His adopted daughters biological parents were not killed by the KLA, they were killed from NATO bombings. The KLA was not a terrorist group, they were freedom fighters.

Serbian paramilitary forces committed genocide in KOSOVO, hence NATO intervention, hence KOSOVO IS NO LONGER PART OF SERBIA!

Stop spreading propoganda.

Kosovo was disarmed along time ago, it was a military power (Serbia) attacking unarmed civilians... You people are ridiculous, stop posting nonsense, or I will report you for pushing vandalism and misinformation based on hearsay.

    • BECAUSE Rich O'Reilly says something, that means his statements are credible?

summary: that last statement of the Divac's adopted daughter is not factual, extremely disputable, and has nothing to do with the family section... --APNYC5 (talk) 23:44, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Her parents were killed by the KLA. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1015990/index.htm In the sixth paragraph it says that her parents were sniped down on their way to the market. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.123.228.222 (talk) 05:05, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The source is biased and unverified one. According to his daughter's Instagram post, she was born on 11.07.1998 https://www.instagram.com/p/CC1b9PPJMrR/, and that in May 1999, she would have been 10 months and not 7 months as the article states, there is the first factual incorrect information, second, there are no other sources citing this that KLA was present at the unknown place of birth of his daughter, therefore, the paragraph should be removed. 80.78.21.37 (talk) 09:46, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

American Citizen[edit]

I see that my edit regarding Divac's nationality has been kept in his "Personal Life" section. However, should that not also be reflected in the main, initial paragraph that he has this as a nationality as well? I understand he is originally Yugoslavian/Serbian, but obtaining US citizenship requires an oath to take on the duties as an American as well. As clearly stated in the reputable source that I provided in his "Personal Life" section, this is not speculation that Divac is American, but rather corroborated fact. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trusttheprocess2022 (talkcontribs) 14:00, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I will reiterate the reasoning why the well intentioned edit has been reverted to the original version which has stood for years. First of all, check other foreign basketball players who have resided in America (and therefore have citizenship) during their career. eg. Toni Kukoc. Second, he is first and foremost Serbian, and known as Serbian by all common sources (including the official NBA website). He holds a Serbian passport with citizenship (dual citizenship is not forbidden by law in Serbia), was born there, and currently resides there as well. Thank you. Thank you for the response! I appreciate and completely understand that reasoning! Trusttheprocess2022 (talk) 13:35, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
