Citation needed[edit]

This was written at the end of the article:

"Even though Limp Bizkit is considered to be a stigma upon heavy music by many critics, Wes Borland is generally respected among the music community."

This lacks any citation or qualification. If there is some sort of consensu that can be quoted, I think this can be added in. In this manner, it appears to be more of an apology or attempt to increase the prestige of this individual, and as such, is not NPOV.

Feel free to add again if this can be proven.

The second paragraph and trivia section was riddled with either POV or non-encyclopedic information, so I removed them both. Original text follows is at the bottom of this page. --Diberri 21:14, 25 Mar 2004 (UTC)

dude... whats non-encyclopedic on he has a disorder called ADD, ie: hyperactivity. ... sorry i like it, its exactly what you do... you take out your pda and find out who he is. you read it, you know it --Gottwik

There is nothing unencyclopedic about his having ADD. Indeed, I never said that it didn't belong in an encyclopedia. What I was referring to was the trivia section's mention of apparently unencyclopedic and sometimes NPOV information. A few selections:

  • "Favorite Color: Yellow.", "Favorite Food/Drink: Coffee."
    • Who cares? Why should this be included in an encyclopedia?
  • "Kids call him Freak (wonder why) and nobody liked him."
    • It is POV to interject "wonder why" here, for it apparently expresses your own agreement with his being labeled a "freak". Also to express that nobody liked him is undoubtedly an overstatement.
  • "It was claimed that he was a heart of old Limp Bizkit."
    • It seems that your own opinion is that he was at the heart of the band; however, conveying this in the form of "It was claimed..." seems weasely (not my term). Who claimed it? When? Where?

On another note, I am very unclear about your previous statement (above) in reply to my original deletion of the trivia section. What do you mean by "sorry i like it, its exactly what you do"? And what about "you read it, you know it"? I'm sufficiently confused, so please clarify if you would.

Finally, please do not sign your messages with a link to my user page and your username as alternate text, as in [[User:Diberri|Gottwiki]]. To some, this gives the false impression that I wrote the comment since clicking on the link takes users to my user page. Please refrain from such practices. --Diberri | Talk 21:59, Apr 28, 2004 (UTC)

---

sorry about that link...

well... i think wikipedia should provide you with as much info as possible... if you wanna know about someone, it's nice to read that he is an artist, besides he plays in some band...

I personally hate limp bizkit, but there was no page for its former guitarist so i ve written something that when you read it you quite know the person...

i removed all the sissy trivia... those lines which are there now should be all facts

take care

Limp Bizkit genre[edit]

it states that he was/is part of 'rock' group Limp Bizkit whereas in the Limp Bizkit article it says they are 'nu metal' or 'rapcore'

Totally unacceptable[edit]

His page is made using a musical group format. He's a person; he doesn't have a genre, and he's been active since he was born.

He's a music artist so he does have a genre, and how the hell can you be active since you were born? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.95.58.104 (talk) 16:36, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed tons of unsourced garbage that violates WP:BLP. I tried to maintain the organizational structure of the article, but please check over and make sure it still flows. Before adding material to the article, please review the BLP policy. You need a reliable, neutral source for any contentious material, including conjectures about people's lives, motivations, and so on. Bickering on MySpace and personal pages of Borland and other related people cannot be used as sources here. I literally had to remove an entire paragraph that described some inter-band bickering (the "second fallout") that contained zero reliable sources. As such, there may be some information missing, but we can't put stuff like that in unless we have good sources. --Spike Wilbury talk 18:01, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
