Terry Kinney[edit]

The article makes it seems as if Kinney and Perkins had a child together. Hannah's father is English director Maurice Phillips, not Kinney.

Mention some films/TV shows on the 1st paragraph[edit]

Diabetes/Weight gain[edit]

I've read online that her recent, noticeable weight gain is the result of her being diagnosed with Type II diabetes. I don't know how reliable this information is, and do not have a source outside of user-generated information off discussion boards, so I won't add it, but if confirmed, this is relevant enough to include in the article, just as similar health problems of people like Jerry Lewis are included in their articles. The weight gain really isn't significant enough to be included in her biography (we may as well document her hair color habits if we are going to go that far). I hadn't noticed anyways (she still looks fabulous). However, I do know that she has type I diabetes, not type II. Specifically, latent autoimmune diabetes. As far as the possibility of weight gain goes, some people do gain a little weight as they adjust to using insulin. The first character I saw her play was Demi Moore's best friend in "About last night". A decade or so later I saw her in "Big". My guess, between the two films she lost something like forty pounds. A lot of weight, anyhow... Geo Swan (talk) 17:09, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I would say the gain is pretty noticeable. Not as significant as, say Kathleen Turner or Marlon Brando, but considering she went from appearing very thin in the final episode of Weeds season 3 to quite chubby in the season 4 premiere (visible despite camera angles designed to hide this), which would probably have been filmed only 8 to 10 months later, that is a pretty rapid weight gain. If there is indeed a medical explanation for her change in appearance (adjusting to insulin) and can be verifiably sourced (perhaps an interview she granted?) it is certainly relevant, as the body shape of any actress is certain to affect the kinds of roles she is offered. Just ask Kathleen Turner, whose medical condition has reduced her to playing drag queens (on Friends) and unappealing "butch broads" (current arc on Californication). Emigrants/immigrants[edit]

Garion96 reverted my edit as "incorrect." An "emigrant" is someone from somewhere while an immigrant is someone moving to somewhere. The same person can be both depending on which place you're discussing (the place he's leaving or the place to which he's moving).

My initial edit:

Her paternal grandparents were Greek emigrants from Thessaloniki who anglicized their surname from "Pisperikos" to "Perkins" when they immigrated to the United States.

Garion96's reversion:

So, while they immigrated to the U.S., they were emigrants from Thessaloniki. Thoughts?
