Evil Monkey[edit]

final (42/0/0) ending 01:43 28 May 2005 (UTC)

Evil Monkey has been with us since November 2003 and has made over 7000 edits (including under a previous username). Not only has he contributed some excellent articles, including the award-winning Apollo 8 and another featured article, but he does a lot of administrative and community-spirited work too, such as image tagging and assisting new users. Surely worthy of the mop and bucket? — Trilobite (Talk) 01:43, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. I can see myself doing a lot of vandalism reversion
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. I especially like my two FAs Apollo 8 and Saturn V. I did a lot of work on them and I think they showcase Wikipedia at its best
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?
A. At one stage WikiUser (who got banned for a year by ArbCom) took offense to me editing 'his' pages to conform with the Manual of Style. I basically let it go after he started attacking other users, though did write a piece for his WP:RFAr. On minor content or style disputes I tend to just change it once to the way I think it should be and then if it changed, I'll let it be. Though recently on Lethal injection I did get into something of a dispute over whether we should mention the fact that the History Channel states the first execution lethal injection in the United States took place in 1983, not 1982 as all other sources stated. In this case I thought it was important to stand my ground as I think there is no point to talking about an error on an external site. I try to stay away from policy votes. In future I think I'll continue my policy of trying to be unconfrontational and saying away from controversial topics
4. What is your previous user name? Thanks JuntungWu 07:26, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
User:Enceladus, which now redirects to user:Evil Monkey. 09:00, May 21, 2005 (UTC)
