Untitled[edit]

I always see it spelt like Sub/Hu/Mans or Sub Hu Mans The Clydelishes Clyde 03:25, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Their logo breaks it up into 3 parts, but the name of the band is Subhumans. -R. fiend 05:34, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think the band is officially called "Subhumans", with the "the" being optional. Can the page be changed, or at very least can Subhumans link to here? thanx. -R. fiend

Redirect now created at Subhumans. I think I've also heard that the official name is just Subhumans]], but I'm not sure. Isomorphic 19:18, 31 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Well done. Yeah, while they're basically always referred to as "the Subhumans", looking at their albums they seem to always say simply "Subhumans". Either one is fine for me, as long as the redirect works. I'd have done it myself but I just figured out how to do it a couple hours ago. -R. fiend

Reunion timeline?[edit]

In 1998, the Subhumans reformed and embarked on a US Tour. They returned and toured the US in both 2005 & 2006.

The above sentence needs to be corrected, because it implies that they ONLY toured the US in 2005 and 2006. I'm in the US and I saw them live in 2004. I'd correct it myself, except that I don't know the whole timeline of the reunited Subhumans. -- drumwolf —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.12.72.94 (talkcontribs) 17:54, 3 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Yes, the 1998 reunion tour definitely included the UK - I think probably before the US. It might also be worth noting that they played a one-off gig in London in 1990 (if I remember the date correctly). (no-name)

Timeline in general[edit]

This article currently says that the original break-up of the band was in 1987, when in fact that happened at the end of 1985, even though Split Vision came out in 1986. Dick Lucas was already recording with Culture Shock in the spring of ’86, and the last Subhumans recordings were in the previous December. As I mentioned above, there was a brief reunion in 1990, and a more comprehensive one in 1998, which included UK and US shows and turned into a semi-permanent full-time return of the band as a touring entity - and yes, not just in the US. The above is accurate, but as editing is blocked currently, would someone be so kind as to change the article accordingly? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chlor-reform (talkcontribs) 00:42, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article Image[edit]

Would it not be better to actually have an image of the band in this article? I have found a good one on flickr. -MarkyBizz —Preceding undated comment was added at 16:32, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ignore that please, that image is copyrighted, sorry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MarkyBizz (talkcontribs) 13:07, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Crusty punks and Subhumans[edit]

There are a lot of bands that play the same genre of music. So how come so many crusty punks have taken to wearing a patch of Subhumans on their clothes? Why Subhumans and not some other band? It's almost like an element of a uniform for crusty punks to have a Subhumans patch on the back of the jacket. Why?... --KpoT (talk) 17:05, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 5 January 2023[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: not moved. Consensus is that this is not the primary topic (closed by non-admin page mover) The Night Watch (talk) 01:03, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Subhumans (British band)Subhumans – Currently Subhumans is a redirect to the subhuman disambiguation page. It seems to me that this band is the most common use of the term "Subhumans", with most of the other entries on that page being for the singular use of the term. (The first entry on that page is "Any of the extinct members of the clade Hominina other than Homo..." and I don't think the term "subhuman" is used this way in the scientific community very often.) The only other entry specifically for the plural use of "subhuman" is the Canadian band, who are not nearly as well known. Obviously a disambiguation header to Subhuman would be added after the move. R. fiend (talk) 00:04, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong oppose unjustified grab of a common term by obscure band. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:44, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose even if you just look at the 2 bands there isn't a clear primary topic with this one getting 1,453 views but the Canadian one getting 538[[1]]. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:40, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Obscure band which is most definitely not the primary topic for this word. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:38, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
