Screwy link[edit]

Covering their left hand behind the back[edit]

You might have once in a while noticed that in live concerts, one of the artists is hiding the left hand behind the back.

I first noticed this gesture in a live concert of Herbert Grönemeyer, when he was singing his song "Land unter". The whole stadium sang in.

Then, after two rounds on the stage, he held his left hand behind his back.

I was asking myself: why does he do this? I had no answer for this.

Later, I heard a concert of Lindsey Buckingham introducing Stevie Nicks, who, while they sang "Never Going Back Again" held her left hand behind her back. What does this mean, holding behind your hand in the back?

I do not understand this gesture. Can someone of you, please, help me to understand it? Thank you, whoever answers.

Poor boy[edit]

Name and date of birth[edit]

My research points towards his full name being Lindsey Adams Buckingham, and being born on 3 October 1947, not 1949. Can someone comment further ?|

Epilepsy?[edit]

Has Lindsey said this in interviews because I can't seem to find any information about it.

Rolling Stone, 10/30/97, for one: "...toward the end of the U.S. leg of the 1977 Rumours tour, [Buckingham] collapsed in the shower in a Philadelphia hotel room and was later diagnosed as having a mild form of epilepsy." Bangdrum (talk) 01:23, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox fields[edit]

Now that the much more suitable guitarist infobox has been restored (after being vandalised back on March 1st) it would be great to see the audio caption field populated. According to the project guidelines this field is to be used for a 30 second sound byte that gives a sample of Buckingham's guitar style. Buckingham has a very unique guitar style and he is often underrated(or forgotten completely) for his guitar skills. I can think of many songs(both solo and Mac) that a nice audio rip could be taken from but my choices and someone else's choices could be completely different. Some audio sample consensus should be reached on what sound byte could be uploaded and placed in the empty field. I see the Mark Knopfler article has an audio sample and, being who the subject is, the sample is taken from his Sultans of Swing solo (an obvious choice). Go Insane doesn't really contain a sample of his unique guitar skill. Big Love, the original version, is better. But I was just listening to Buckingham's live solo acoustic version of Big Love which has a 30 second acoustic 'fingerpick' style interlude right in the middle that would be perfect. Audio samples can't exceed 30 seconds. And that little solo really shows his particular guitar style quite well. Yes I think that would be a great example i have the track but i think think the on from the Elizabethan soundtrack is better i have both tracks/albums?

Controversy[edit]

Regarding the new section that was added, "Controversy", I'm not sure it is necessary to have a whole section on this incident. Musicians cancel shows all the time, and many times because of equipment issues. I think the section should be removed and a brief mention placed in the section that talks about his album and tour. response to your Controversy censorship[edit]

So glad you're honest enough to admit your biased and a fan of Lindsey. But I thought Wikipedia was for the 'people' of which I also am a fan but thought his being rude to the Lincoln venue and cancelling the day of the show after saying vulgarities and also that it was published on CNN kind of makes this an event which should be included. You don't think the mega-ego incident should be censored and that you're the one who should censor it? This content may have WP:UNDUE and WP:NPOV issues as it stands, but it does not have sufficient notablity to warrant its own section. Copyright problems[edit]

Major portions of this article have been lifted directly from the Lindsey Buckingham page on Fleetwood Mac's site. I haven't compared every paragraph, but many are word for word, while others have a just a word or two changed. I plan to research the history to determine the editors responsible, and if they're still active, I'll notify them on their talk pages. Upon further researching the article and noticing the ".org" in the URL, I'm not sure as to who copied whom. Fleetwoodmac.org's copyright dates to 2006, around the time much of the material in question originated in WP. Also, in a lengthy disclaimer, the site notes that its information "has been compiled from a variety of sources" but provides no indication as to what those sources are. I also found strong similarities between WP's Stevie Nicks article and the site's Nicks page. Based on this, I suspect I might be wrong and would appreciate feedback from other editors. Thanks. Orphaned references in Lindsey Buckingham[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Lindsey Buckingham's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

In Fleetwood Mac: Don't Stop, Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham both talk about Lindsey settling down and starting a family as being the best thing that ever happened to him. Rolling Stone's List of 100 Guitar Players[edit]

I think it's really a shame how this list is used in the very first paragraph of his page. It's a fine list and all, but I really don't think it's a very good defining piece of information about him.
