Plagiarism / circular referencing[edit]

I'm a bit concerned that this article links to the Bleacher Report blog post as justification for the criticism of Mr. Tilke's course designs. While the criticism may be valid, this linked web page has problems.

Firstly it is written by a 19 year old blogger. I'm not saying that his views are not valid, but is there a more authoritative source of this criticism (e.g from a national newspaper, F1 commentator, racing driver, etc.)?

Secondly it looks like the blog post was generated by copying this Wikipedia entry (without acknowledging Wikipedia). It has the same structure and although there are slight differences in wording, there are frequently identical, unusual turns of phrase. It is inconceivable that both articles were created independently. Given that pages from Wikipedia with this format and phraseology appear to pre-date the blog post by some time, there is strong evidence that it is the blog-post which has plagiarised the Wikipedia article. To my mind this is another reason not to link to the blog-post - indeed the possibility that the blogger has simply lifted much of the text of his article from here and passed it off as his own throws further doubt on the appropriateness of using his blog post to justify a statement in this article. I do not think that the cited article is either well written or well researched. It is full of factual errors, especially regarding the reasons for modifying Hockenheim. Hockenheim was modified following the track invasion by a disgruntled Mercedes employee. The forest section was removed deliberately, as it was impossible to police that part of the track. Furthermore, there has been praise of the modifications of the track. Martin Brundle has categorically stated he prefers the new version of the track during commentary for the BBC.

The article does not bring up the stringent FIA safety requirements for new circuits.

Finally, rather than presenting a thesis and antithesis, the article writer confesses his opinion during the piece: 'I think every track he has done so far is boring'

I am removing the statement and citation until someone can provide a better, more objective source. Alienturnedhuman (talk) 18:46, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dublin Street Circuit[edit]

Should Dublin Street Circuit be removed from the List of Circuits? A1GP folded before the planed race, and it doesn't look like the circuit design was ever formally awarded to Tilke, let alone built.--The Three Headed Knight (talk) 15:33, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Monza, Barcelona and Fuji?[edit]

Are we sure about these three? Monza hasn't had any layout changes for many, many years. Unless Tilke was definitely involved with simplifying the Variante del Rettifilo, I say take this one off the list.

Barcelona has seen some minor changes, most notably the chicane before the final corner, but again: were these tweaks by Tilke?

Finally, Fuji has been remodelled many times but was the current layout done by Tilke? I don't remember hearing his name mentioned with this track, but of course I'm asking this exactly so that someone can prove me wrong, cite a source and improve the page!  :) --SmartShark (talk) 22:13, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
