Merge with Cindel Towani talk page[edit]

An anonymous user originally posted a "merge" template here. That is what the following comments pertained to.

It was decided that she was an important enough character to have her own page and talk section. The Wookieepedian 08:12, 27 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I am removeing the merge tag. Please do not put merge tags on article not being merged so articles that are being merged can get some help. Merge tags usually go on the article. --Banana04131 22:10, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't. I don't know who the original poster was, but I was simply organizing it into this section. I left it on the page to give a history of the fact that some wanted to merge the articles. The Wookieepedian 22:16, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin Thompson link[edit]

The link to Kevin Thompson goes to the character Kevin Thompson from the Cartoon Daria. I'm 99% sure this is wrong. :) --Maffuster 06:48, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)

This link has been fixed and links to the correct person. Adamwankenobi 06:05, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Given that this was an American production, and, so far as I am aware, there are not any other films entitled "The Ewok Adventure," shouldn't this page be located under the American title? john k 01:16, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, since the rest of the world knows it as Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, I suppose we would go with that title, since it would be the most well-known. The Wookieepedian 16:25, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Repetive Category?[edit]

Why was this film removed from the category of English-language films? It obviously matches the criterion for inclusion, and I do not feel that the category is repetitive because it serves to better index the films. Additionally there is a request to populate this category. --Supernumerary 02:02, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's repetitive because Category:Star Wars films is already categorized under this. The Wookieepedian 02:03, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, that makes sense. --Supernumerary 02:08, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio[edit]

Hi, folks. I've removed the section titled "Selected plot elements", because it appeared to be a copyright violation (copied from this page). Remember that it's a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy to copy text from another website. You can copy information, but it has to be put in your own words. I'm just noting this here as recommended by WP:C. You can go about your business; move along. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 06:13, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spin Offs[edit]

"It is the second of three spin-off films of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi." I get Bettle for Endor as one but am stumped as to the other... this seems very unclear at present. Should it be 1st of two or should a link be inserted to the other one? Malak1000 (talk) 11:38, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I don't know what this refers to either, so I've removed it.79.66.95.193 (talk) 17:38, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Time Period[edit]

This article claims the film takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Does anyone have an official source to back this up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.253.64.213 (talk) 10:22, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article also says the film is "set sometime between the fourth and fifth episodes of the Star Wars saga." That is, between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. At least one, and possibly both, of those sentences should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.86.10.193 (talk) 02:02, 11 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed the language describing the timeframe to allow for the greatest possibility, that is, that the film takes place sometime after the events of new hope and before the events of return of the jedi. Since neither of these Ewok films are considered canon, they fall outside any official distinction and are apart of what was called the expanded universe but is now known as the star wars legends. 108.205.164.219 (talk) 10:46, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A French song and music video about the plot of the film[edit]

I don’t know this film or the Star Wars universe, but I wonder if this might be relevant: Dorothée has sung a song that seems to be about the plot of this film, and a music video I’ve seen for it might include scenes from the film. I don’t even know if its title is “Les petits Ewoks” or “La chanson des Ewoks”, or if the subtitles in the link are precise. According to her French article, Dorothée also narrated this film (and this site says she has sung another song about the Ewoks, a version of which seems to be the theme song to the Ewoks series). --Kletta (talk) 02:13, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Now there’s a French article for fr:Les petits Ewoks that says that the song tells the story of this film, and that its B side was “Nos amis les Ewoks”. From the lyrics here and the song here, this song also seems to be about the story of Caravan of Courage. Besides “La chanson des Ewoks”, Dorothée also performed “La Planète des Ewoks”; I think all four songs are by Jean-François Porry (Jean-Luc Azoulay) and Gérard Salesses. --Kletta (talk) 13:02, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Opening Remarks[edit]

If "The film is set sometime between the fifth and sixth episodes of the Star Wars saga," then wouldn't there be an intense Imperial presence, being that they (the Empire) were building the second Death Star in this space sector (government security/secrecy would have been at maximum). Yet this common family manages to crash land on a moon in the sector (the very moon the Death Star's shield generator is located on) without being detected by Imperial security? Doesn't seem logical. A reference is needed that backs up the claim that Caravan of Courage takes place between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. --Nikoz78 (talk) 05:15, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

@Nikoz78:

I don't know if you still care about this subject. But like you I am a believer that the Ewok Adventures happened sometime after Return Of The Jedi. The rumor about this continuity to date is that George Lucas himself claimed that the movies happen between Empire and Jedi, however if that was so they made a tiny mistake in production of one of the special editions of Return Of The Jedi. I had once mentioned in an earlier edit of one of the Ewok movie articles that the Ewok woodsman from Caravan of Courage is now spotted in Return of the Jedi during the end celebration after the destruction of the second Death Star. Chukha-Trok shouldn't be there in Return of the Jedi if Caravan and Battle happened before because he was killed in Caravan. Unfortunately with the recent acquisition by Disney they removed this whole Ewok Adventure from the Official continuity. Here's to head cannon which we can't put on the site. Maxcardun 09/04/2020 12:10 PM

The Star Wars forum is about as reliable as it gets for this subject, as Leland Chee was the official continuity expert. The Kevin J. Anderson source establishes this timeframe as well, relating the events of the films from the point of view of a Rebel soldier stationed at Endor concurrent to Return of the Jedi. I agree that more attention to this is in order, and maybe it doesn't belong in the lead, but I don't think there's a reliable source for whether or not Chuka-Trook was one of the Ewoks appearing the Special Edition end sequence. UpdateNerd (talk) 17:03, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@UpdateNerd:

What about the film itself? Compare Chukha-Trok to another Ewok in Return of the Jedi who shares his red hood and black fur. If that is not Chukha-Trock it's his twin brother! Meaning Caravan happens after Return of the Jedi, or someone got too crazy at the prop dept. Go ahead and take a look. Maxcardun 09/04/2020 2:36 PM

My Ewok-watching skills aren't that fine-tuned. Without a reliable secondary source confirming this identification, this would be WP:OR. There are also the Expanded Universe references which seem to have Cindel older at the time of RotJ. UpdateNerd (talk) 21:00, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@UpdateNerd:

Well I guess you are with the majority who dislike Ewoks for not being Wookies, but I must reluctantly agree with you about finding a reliable source for identifying Chukha-Trock. As for the Expanded Universe references, I think the both of us are disappointed that because of the Disney aquisition everything that came before 2015, is now retconned because in our contemporary times profit matters more than storytelling. Thanks for listening and have a nice day. Maxcardun 09/08/2020 12:35 PM

Caravan of Courage: An Ewok AdventureThe Ewok Adventure – The matter comes to using either current title or proposed one, which was the original American title. I wonder if the proposed title more recognizable than the other. Relisted. BDD (talk) 20:57, 10 September 2013 (UTC) George Ho (talk) 17:53, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong oppose Caravan of Courage would make much more sense that the proposed title. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 12:18, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Caravan of Courage. In addition to removing the WP:SUBTITLE, this seems to be the most common way of referring to the subject in the sources. It gets 1070 hits on Google Books compared to 235 for "Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure" and 550 for "The Ewok Adventure".--Cúchullain t/c 03:46, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose; including both titles improves recognizability at the expense of conciseness. I'm okay with that. Powers T 18:29, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
