Further Information Removed from the Article?[edit]

Is there any information that has been intentionally deleted by the various Israeli sockpuppets screwing with this article? There seems to be a lack of the sheer outrage over his kidnapping missing from world sources, can anyone provide some here so that I can store them and look for aditional information in relation to it that would flat out prevent the Israeli sockpuppets from tampering with this article to produce a Pro-Israel bias?

I agree. I removed the following text: "following a rise in anti-semitic sentiment in Morocco" as it was not referenced and as far as I know, it was Israel and Israeli agents doing their damndest best to get Moroccan Jews to move to Israel. The King, as far as I know, did not want them to move. Also, there are still Jews living in Morocco today. Weird term antisemitism, lots of creative usage nowadays. Italian Reaction?[edit]

This article is riddled with un-cited references and inconspicuously placed derogatory information[edit]

I read about this gentlement for the first time today and I'm shocked at the level of very carfully placed negative information included here. Parts of this article are biased and do not meet wikipedia standards. Wikihelper242 (talk) 09:17, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I removed this block, which is an example:

It is believed that at Dimona, Vanunu became increasingly troubled about the Israeli nuclear weapons programme on which he worked and possible Israeli nuclear strategies in the event of war. When he was laid off from Dimona in 1985, Vanunu left Israel. He arrived in Nepal and considered a conversion to Buddhism, later travelling to Burma and Thailand. In 1986, he travelled to Sydney, Australia. While there, Vanunu lived in a hostel in Kings Cross and worked in odd jobs, first as a hotel dishwasher and later as a taxi driver.

Vanunu began to attend the local church, St. John's, Darlinghurst. There he met Rev Stephen Gray and Rev John McKnight, who worked with the homeless and drug addicts. Vanunu was converted to Christianity by Fr Stephen and was baptized as John Crossman into the Anglican Church of Australia, making him further estranged from his family.

Those paragraphs were well sourced. Simply removing them becuase you disagree with them are just unacceptable.

Consequences of his action[edit]

In assessing the significance of the actions of a whistleblower, it is surely important to consider the long term consequences of his actions. My impression is that they are negligible, but that may be unfair. Nationality[edit]

Since he is born in Morocco from Moroccan parents he will also have Moroccan nationality. I assume he is registered after his birth in the Moroccan civil registration (albeit in that time a French colony). Otto (talk) 20:52, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How can you say his ethnicity is Morrocan? Jews were an ethnic minority in morocco, his is of Moroccan Jewish ethnicity/background

No one in his family is of ethnic Morrocan background. Ukrainian Jews aren't Slavic, Yemenite Jews aren't arabs, Moroccan Jews aren't Morrocan (in terms of ethnicity). I feel stupid even explaining this. ברופלובסקי (talk) 21:45, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

MORDICHAI VANUNU WAS CONVICTED OF BEING a spy and sentenced for 18 years and someone who have been charged for spying is a traitor to his country if you don't mention it in the opening article you should also not mention that pollard is a traitor spy why do you have double standard this is hypocrisy

VERY OUTDATED[edit]

Conspiracy Theory section removed[edit]

I removed the Conspiracy Theory section as it was based on a tertiary source (WP:TERTIARY). It's entirely based on a Jerusalem Post article which is itself based entirely on an article published in a London-based Arabic newspaper (no longer published) which is itself based on an interview they claim they had with Vannunu. This kind of fourth-hand attribution would not be acceptable for a normal Wikipedia article, let alone a Biography of a Living person.Steve3742 (talk) 00:30, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

the article reads:

Under the usual laws of physics that is not possible. The Amnesty statement relates to the earlier sentence "In 2007, Vanunu was sentenced to six months in prison for violating terms of his parole". The sentence beginning "However, in May 2010, Vanunu was arrested again ... " should be moved further down the paragraph. Amnesty appears to have made a separate statement regarding the May 2010 arrest, which may be where the confusion originates. This 2010 statement is mentioned in the body - "Eleven days earlier, Amnesty International had released a press release following the announcement of this sentence: "If Mordechai Vanunu is imprisoned again, Amnesty International will declare him to be a prisoner of conscience and call for his immediate and unconditional release." Legal name[edit]
