==well i think you've done a great job it almost seems like you really are a doctor you made it seem real

Untitled[edit]

It IS Tamera, always has been. Why people spell it that way,I don't know. But you're right.Somebody really needs to change that.

Spelling[edit]

Um: I'm pretty sure it's "Tamera", not "Tamara", but she's called Tamara everywhere in Wikipedia. Am I mistaken? Or should I go through and change every reference? AJD 03:18, 13 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Did it. AJD 23:08, 17 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Background[edit]

Tia and Tamara I am so happy for you, because I heard the prophesy that you got from Benny Hinn. You Go Girls!

Just an odd note on how small the world really is: I used to live right next to Tia and Tamara in an apartment complex in an unincorporated part of west Anaheim, California when they were still doing McDonald's and Barbie commercials. They were annoying and always seemed to dress and act the same. They were allied with my mortal enemy who loved to tease me - my sister. At that time they lived with their mom and some white guy who often wore military camouflage. I have no idea why I'm telling anybody this. --mav

Some regard them as the black counterparts of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. - what does this mean? -- Zoe

Mav, I've added a bit about their background from your text above. Is that allowed...? Change it if you want. Could the "white guy" have been their father? According to a webpage I found, they are only "black" on their mother's side. -- Oliver P. 00:17 Feb 16, 2003 (UTC)

Yes that is allowed :) but they didn't grow-up in that apartment complex (maybe a couple of years - I can't remember). I'm not sure if the white guy was their father but I do remember them calling him Dad (which does not mean much for So. Cal. due to the large percentage of broken families and families with step parents). --mav

Actually, I've changed my mind. I think we shouldn't really include stuff that's just from personal knowledge. How are people supposed to check it? I know you're trustworthy, mav, but if we get into a situation where we just have to trust everyone whenever they claim to have personal knowledge of a celebrity, then we'll end up with a lot of inaccurate stuff from other, less trustworthy people. I think it would be best if we stuck to information that has been published. I am therefore removing "The girls grew up in various parts of Southern California including a modest apartment complex in an unincorporated part of west Anaheim, California" from the article. Please replace it if there really is a published reference to back this up! -- Oliver P. 17:06 8 Jul 2003 (UTC)

I never intended for what I wrote to end up on the article page since it wasn't important information. --mav

Hmph. Well, I did ask. Anyway, some information about people's upbringing is important. It's interesting to see where famous people come from, and all that... -- Oliver P. 18:16 8 Jul 2003 (UTC)

Hello![edit]

Hello Tia and Tamera! I've only just heard of you, I haven't seen any of your movies or TV shows or whatever you do, and I haven't the foggiest what you look like. Still, I'm one of your biggest fans, and I would like to write here in the mistaken hope you'll ever get to read it. JIP | Talk 15:47, 20 August 2005 (UTC) Luci[reply]

Excellent job in The Hot Chick[edit]

Tia and Tamera were alsop in the Hot Chick where they were talking with another black girl and an Asian lady walks in with her lunch and say's "Ling Ling, you forgot your lunch. Ok you kids learn now." and the twins say "Ling Ling?" "Can somebody answer the phone?" "Oh shoot that's messed up."

And then later in the show Ling Ling goes into a store and says "All this stuff makes me so proud to be an African-American." and the black clerk smiles and the Asian lady said "Ling Ling you walk right by and no say hi me. What dat about?" "Hi Mom" -anxieus

Separation[edit]

Can we please separate this into Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry? I mean, they're probably sick of ALWAYS being spoken and considered together. --daunrealist 20:53, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Are they historically notable as separate people or just as a duo? Kaisershatner 17:21, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Removing split tag. Even the Olsen twins get one page for the two of them. Kaisershatner 17:22, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

UPN[edit]

The article claims the Sister, Sister show was picked up by UPN after being cancelled from ABC. I thought it moved to WB, not UPN. Q0 05:45, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're right[edit]

You're right, it was WB, will fix it. Thanks for the heads up.Ckessler
