Atmospheric, inspired and easy on the ear. Bukem has an ear for perfection. LTJ Bukem is ah rude bwai! ruff!

His moniker...[edit]

Amen to the comment above, his music is almost divine. But I have a question about LTJ Bukem, what's the story behind his moniker? I remember reading under his entry on allmusic.com [1] that he decided to call himself LTJ Bukem after the TV series Hawaii Five-0, using the name Bukem as a corruption of sorts from the series' famous catchphrase "book'em Danno". Is this true, because it does seem a bit silly, IMHO... misternuvistor 22:37, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A bit more on this. The article says "Logical Progression (released under the name LT Bukem)". My copy of Logical Progression quite clearly says LTJ Bukem, and I got mine shortly after it was released. Citation needed, I reckon. headlessness 18:55, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I always heard it was the French calling him "Le DJ Book em", not the Spanish.. :dunno: --Frantik 11:08, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I thought I read somewhere online that it stood for Le Tourne-discs Jockey...

It definitely relates to 'book'e Danno' as that appears quite alot in his DJ set's by several different MC's. I don't think that is a coincidence. I've got one from 88 that says this. --87.75.28.66 (talk) 17:12, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

unrelated, but in #dnbradio - ltj was translated with light the joint Mogguh (talk) 00:40, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Early days (before he released any music as LTJ Bukem) he'd appear on flyers and stuff as 'LT. J Bukem or LT. Bukem' sometimes, so much so that for years I thought it was as in Lieutenant 'J' Bukem - I got the joke on Bukem itself. Even later I just assumed it was that [originally] and became LTJ instead. Some of his mixes even use the 'Book 'em Danno' H50 sample at the start of his mixes - Mixmag live and the first Promised land one spring to mind. The comment on Logical Progression above means on the single, not the series of logical progressions - see here. http://www.discogs.com/LT-Bukem-Logical-Progression/release/90576 This link here (sorry, can't insert hyperlinks?) mentions the Italian thing which I don't 'get'. http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=OiwEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA221&lpg=PA221&dq=%22lt.+j+bukem%22&source=bl&ots=PEJKl0ARTX&sig=f_wwE1QHmQoX5q6gbJ50br49XgY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=GHtQUf6SM4Oe0QXI5IDIAw&ved=0CGQQ6AEwCA#v=onepage&q=%22lt.%20j%20bukem%22&f=false — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.159.128.118 (talk) 16:33, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Any update?[edit]

This article seems to be somewhat outdated. Are there any recent events worthy of noting on this article? What has this guy been up to since 2001 (the last referenced date in the article)?

Last I heard he has retired to concentrate on his pottery. Can anyone confirm? --87.75.28.66 (talk) 16:12, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wicked new mix set (Fabric Live 46). Pretty much all the cutz are on Good Looking, so Danny's still pretty involved in that, methinks. 81.154.183.149 (talk) 20:16, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
