Longest Summer - Question[edit]

Maybe Wikipedia isn't the place to ask this, but I watched The Longest Summer last year. I didn't get the ending. What really happened at the end? Could someone enlighten? Mandel 22:12, Jan 2, 2005 (UTC)

It's meant to symbolic for the changing (at the time) face of Hong Kong during the 1997 handover. Before the handover, they were friends and knew each other well, and then after the handover it's like passing a stranger on the street in an entirely new Hong Kong. Chinese vs Hong Kong[edit]

Removed category for "Chinese film director". Technically he's a Hong Kong director and since there's already a category for Hong Kong film directors, I removed the cat. for Chinese film directors.

Dumpling the most disgusting film, I have never seen in my life[edit]

I just wonder who actually finnaces prodction of this film Dumpling. This is the most disgusting movie I have never seen in my life. My resentiment doesn't not come with the outburst of desire from the inner soul of a woman to regain her loss of attractiveness through natural aging but rather the means to archieve her objectives to satisfy her fantasy. It not totally fair to put all the blame on the film crew involved in this film but also the media to promote this ugly, unethical film to the public. Fruit Chan maust have a very sick mind to make up the plot for this film.

So don't watch it.

Public Toilet and The Prostitute Trilogy[edit]

Public Toilet is NOT the third film in The Prostitute Trilogy. The Prostitute Trilogy is unfinished. Durian Durian and Hollywood Hong Kong are films about prostitutes. Public Toilet is NOT. See the HKU monograph on the film Durian Durian for a detailed discussion of The Prostitute Trilogy.
