Piotrus is a real asset to Wikipedia. He has created or worked extensively on several featured articles, such as Warsaw Uprising, Max Weber, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and he has started the History of Poland WikiProject. In his time here at Wikipedia, he has made 3635 edits since he joined Wikipedia on 10 April 2004. He has shown himself time and time again to be level-headed, and a great editor with a passion for writing. He would make an excellent admin, and I hope to see him as one soon!

1. Taxman 22:50, Jan 18, 2005 (UTC). Piotrus has always made good faith edits. He argues his points but is very good at conceding points his counterparts have made that are valid. That is the hallmark of a good editor. Contributes a lot of good material and researches, something that should get much more attention, now that Wikipedia has hit the big time. He could stand to use better edit summaries.

• I hesitate to make any remark here for fear of seeming bigoted, but I feel I should. The frequent mentions of Poland make me wonder: has Piotrus been involved at all in the Polish-German name wars that have smoldered on for over a year at articles like Gdansk/Danzig? If Piotrus's involvement has been non-existent or positive, then he has my commendation and support -- I know it was difficult for any knowledgable editor to avoid trouble there. Conversely, if his involvement has been negative, then I am hesitant to empower an editor involved in such a long-standing edit war. I hope no one will take offense at my questions, since I mean well: I simply have not kept track of the troubles in that edit war, and want to be sure of the situation.   • Fortunately most of this problem has passed me by, as I concern myself little with edits of any cities, and the entire name thing seems rather silly to me. I joined that discussion only once, when the revert war was fought at my hometown - Katowice. After I spotted the devastation wrought by constant reverts (entire pages of history with only rv...*shivers*....)     • There is a CSV file with editor statistics, and the values it gives don't agree with your special:contributions page, by many hundreds of edits. • I am not voting support because Piotrus is not getting involved in the lame Gdunszkig edit wars: by that reasoning anyone who does not touch articles they may have political views on deserves admin rights. A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)

A. Good question. Just a few days ago it didn't even cross my mind that *I* could be nominated for an admin. But given I have lots of free online time lately - I think I can help somewhat. I doubt I'd change my activities much - I spend most of my time writing articles and I think it is something I am fairly good at. Still, with power comes responsibility, as they say. I'd be happy to help any more experienced admin - just point to a thing that needs to be done and I will take care of it. Browsing through Wikipedia:Requests for sysop attention and Administrators' noticeboard seems like a good idea as well. From what I read about admin powers, rollback thingy looks mighty useful - some pages I watch (like Second World War) tend to attract vandals in hordes on a daily bais, and being able to revert all of their doings instantly looks nifty. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus 21:01, 18 Jan 2005 (UTC)

2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?

A. Well, in addition to what Pall listed above, I'd like to point to my 4th most recent FA - Witold Pilecki. I am doing most of my work on history (15-18th and 20th centuries), and some sociology-economics related things. Note that I only did half (at best) of Warsaw Uprising, there were many people working on that one. A. Umm, is this a tricky question? A week or so above I could have honestly said I had no such problems whatsoever - none of the articles I worked had caused any major dispute. Recently though I am involved in a POV dispute at Talk:Polish-Soviet War and I believe my behaviour there is a good example of my actions - I try to solve the problem through talk and negotiation.
