Paradise[edit]

This entry states there is no in-game evidence that suggests that the fictional Paradise, Arizona featured within the game corresponds to the real life ghost town of Paradise, Arizona. This is simply not true. In game street signs place the game's Paradise in the same location as the ghost town Paradise of the real world. This YouTube video at 4:11 ([1]) clearly shows that intention, with the game's Paradise being within 33 miles of Willcox, a town within the same county as the real life Paradise and also about 33 miles away. I will change the article to reflect this. Postal 2 Entry[edit]

I'm very much a fan of Postal 2 and I'm a little bit worried that this entry - my first for a computer game - may come across with a little bit too much enthusiasm, although I have tried to stay objective. If anyone thinks I've strayed away from the Neutral P.O.V. they can always edit it of course.

I am very much confused on what the original author(s) was/were intending when it states in the Trivia section, "...also the game clearly noticing that this game is extrictly only for adults." Minor inaccuracies[edit]

I just made one little correction, where it said weapons ranging from machine guns to napalm launchers are just lying about for the player to pick up. The napalm launcher is acquired as part of a mission and cannot be procured anywhere else, although "ammo" for it can be found in various areas. A very minor distinction, but one I felt was worth making nonetheless. Changed it to "rocket-launcher" instead, a weapon that can be found in relative abundance. I would like to question the following sentence: “Regardless of the Dude's actions, the police storm the building in an attempt to arrest Gary Coleman and a gunfight ensues which invariably results in Coleman's demise (with or without the player's help).” Does Coleman really die after the player eliminates all the cops? —LOL 08:43, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, he does. All the times I've played he's dies even if you kill the cops first. It was kind of weird, I watched him after I killed the cops, and he just sprung up and died. ``BGOATDoughnut 03:53, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He does die regardless. If you have Dude's vocal variety cranked up, he'll even comment on this if you're still in the mall, even if he doesn't actually witness this. Apocalypse Weekend retcons the death though as he's alive in the hospital at the start(he'll run in terror from Dude), and walking around Paradise bandaged up later on(the numerous "hallucination" Gary enemies are not the same, BTW). You can kill him when he's walking around though. If you cut off a limb with the machete, he'll crawl on the ground and utter, "If I see anybody selling my blood on eBay... I will come back from the dead and kick your sorry asses!".
I remember playing the original Postal2 and taking Gary's side against the cops, at the end he ended walking around talking, I watched him a while and then continued. Never saw him drop dead.-Jrksid 2009

Weapons section[edit]

Does anyone think there should be a short section dedicated entirely to the weapons encountered in Postal 2? There are certainly a great deal of them, and it might be useful to generate a list. That, plus Coleman doesn't necessarily even die, so it's not even true. I've played the scenario several times and he was always alive by the time I left the mall...however, his demise is implied at the 'end of the day dialogue' between Postal Dude and his wife, so... The list of controversial aspects had become quite long and unstructured. I've added a few subheaders. I'm not all too happy with them as they are now, but I think it's still better than having just one long list. AWP[edit]

I'm currently playing the Fudge Pack version of AWP and some of the descriptions here don't jive with it. For example, it's mentioned that the School is accessed on Tuesday and becomes a zombie battle. In AWP there's no zombie battle and the area isn't opened until Wednesday. I took this reference out. Perhaps the section could be revised to more clearly indicate the different versions of Fudge Pack and the mods that are out there. For example, my FP has Eternal Damnation, but the article at one point says it wasn't included in FP. Requested move[edit]

Postal² → Postal 2 — The superscript 2 is a stylization used for promotion and marketing. The title should be in plain English according to Wikipedia rules (MOS:TM), without any stylizations. Bug Notes[edit]

When playing this game (Postal 2: Apocalypse Weekend), I encountered a notable bug. During gameplay, I couldn't get the Postal Dude to urinate. So I researched on this and discovered a software patch that specifically solves this problem. Here is a link for proof:

Facts of Life or What's Happening?[edit]

In my last playthrough of Postal 2, The Postal Dude said that he had always liked Gary Coleman in a show called "What's Happening," not "Facts of Life." I never recall that being said on the Windows version either (I presently use a Mac and the Mac version).

Split off Apocalypse Weekend[edit]

ban update[edit]

@Jan200101: I updated the article. Status in New Zealand is unclear, I don't know anyone from NZ to test it. https://www.reddit.com/r/newzealand/comments/ebj4kh/postal_2_is_free_but_is_it_legal_to_add_it_to/ would suggest it's available in NZ on GOG but not Steam.
As for Australia, it's also not clear. See Australia's video game censorship 'the laughing stock of the world', Australia also banned DayZ, We Happy Few and Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
According to List of banned video games in Australia, "Classification is compulsory, and games refused classification by the ACB are banned for sale, hire or public exhibition, carrying a maximum fine of $275,000 and/or 10 years' jail. It is, however, legal to possess RC games (except in Western Australia and prescribed areas of the Northern Territory)."
Considering Australia bans pretty much everything that isn't Peppa Pig, I can imagine Steam/GOG simply ignoring those bans and waiting for a warning. They don't operate from Australia, so they couldn't be fined anyway.
