Parry Sound Media[edit]

why is that there?

Why wouldn't it be? Bearcat (talk) 05:56, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Local attractions[edit]

Hi!

Great article on Parry Sound, is anyone from there? We could perhaps add more of the local attractions not already included in its own section? --ShaunMacPherson 19:46, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • There's a Wal-Mart with a McDonalds in it next to a standalone McDonalds... Not really anything else that isn't already mentioned. There's some annual celebrations in the town square and some of the roads nearby, but I don't know much about the details. One of them's posted on a sign near the mall. 24.146.8.72 18:15, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Depot Harbour[edit]

Dan Crawford 99: It is Depot, not Depo. The Parry Sound Public Library's Web site [1] has the correct spelling.

Question - Depot Harbour destruction by fire The Parry Sound page refers to Depot Harbour's destruction by fire during V-E Day celebrations, but the Depot Harbour page says it was destroyed on 8/14/45 during V-J Day celebrations - at least one of those must be incorrect.--Byoolin 12:53, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Depot Harbour page is correct: the date given by the Parry Sound library pages linked above is V-J Day. I've also re-worded things a little, to indicate that the fire was accidental. It was funnier with the implication of deliberate destruction intact, but not accurate. Unless someone's got a reference... —Eric S. Smith 18:44, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Content[edit]

Please note that several recent additions to this article were formatted in the style of a Parry Sound tourist brochure, not an encyclopedia article. I've reformatted them in proper encyclopedic format. Bearcat (talk) 18:32, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Parry Sound Development[edit]

Perhaps someone could add a section on the main article about the development of Parry Sound including the south end of town.

Notable People[edit]

Should Ian Borden, President, International at McDonald’s Corporation and soon (as of Sept 1) CFO McDonald's Corporation be added to the list of notable people? 192.55.55.57 (talk) 19:57, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The list should only include people with a wiki article, and when a reliable source ties them to the location. If he meets both, add him and the source. - Floydian τ ¢ 20:33, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
