Facebook and a problem with your mugshot[edit]
Would you like to add your mugshot to the facebook? Actually I've just noticed that you appear to have accidentally uploaded said mugshot over the top of a picture of a Redhead (duck) which gives the article a somewhat surreal air. Might I suggest that you try re-loading your picture with a different filename? Meanwhile I have reverted the picture on the grounds that making the article look half-way sensible takes priority over seeing what a Wikipedian looks like (no matter how pleasant you appear :-) --Phil | Talk 11:59, Jan 17, 2005 (UTC)

Regarding your "under construction" contribution: These are speedy delete candidates. An article has to have at least a smidgeon of content. Best thing to do is to add a bit of fact to what you have, add a stub notice by merely typing {{stub}} at the bottom and feel free to remove the speedy delete notice once you've fleshed it out a bit. Golden City again[edit]
Sorry, I don't think this is the book you are after. On rechecking the page about Finnemore there were two entries about author Minnie Harding Kelly and the second one, with reference to a book published in Pembina, was incorrect. I deleted the reference. My error- sorry, I don't know how it happened. I couldn't find any reference to books about Pembina in COPAC. Regards Philip Marshall

Hi Trishymouse: I don't think the book - which was published by the Religious Tract Society - has anything to do with Pembina. I don't know where the reference to Pembina came from. I compiled the bibliography from COPAC - may be you would like to try using Pembina as a search term in COPAC if you haven't already done so. Best wishes, Philip
I just self-nominated myself for administrator's status on Wikipedia. As an active member of WikiProject North Dakota, I feel that having admin status would allow me the ability to be more useful to the project and to curtail vandalism and other problems. An admin is able to protect pages that are being bombarded with vandalism and to more quickly revert pages that have been vandalized. I've always hoped that we could get an admin to join the WikiProject so we would have someone to turn to in times of need. Since we still don't have an active admin within the project's membership, I decided to nominate myself. I really hope you will visit my request for adminship and support me. News The Grand Forks article is a great example to follow when working on other city articles, particularly those about North Dakota cities. We would be very well off if our other major city articles were similar to the Grand Forks article. Keep the Grand Forks article bookmarked and refer to its structure and style when you work on similar articles. ---New assessment parameter--- The importance of each article is gauged as either Top, High, Mid, or Low. Since "importance" is a rather subjective term, some WPND members are trying to come up with a general set of guidelines. Check out this thread on the WPND talk page to see proposals and to share your own opinions of what is and isn't "important" in the state. | |

- I ran across your name more than once. The first time was at Pembina, North Dakota, the second while researching the area around Pembina, for an article I moved to Pembina Region, that was St. Vincent, Minnesota, and the third was at Wikipedia:WikiProject North Dakota where you are listed as inactive, now apparently along with the entire project, and I noticed your comments of interest; "I will volunteer, silly person that I am. I grew up in St. Vincent, MN but live in Fargo now. St. Vincent in right across the Red River from Pembina, ND. While everyone else seems interested in the larger and more famous aspects of North Dakota, I rather like the more obscure and rural, and dare I say it, historical...". I joined Wikipedia:WikiProject United States History
- I am interested in all things history, especially towns, historic geographical areas, people, and a vast range of other historical areas. It seems that you have not been very active and I was wondering about it.
- I became interested in the area around where you live because of a deletion request of "Pembina Territory". I saw there was historical significance and improved the article to gain a stay of execution (of the deletion) but the article was deleted. Upon contact the Admin gave a sentence reprieve and moved it to draft. I moved it to article space (apparently without permission that I have to deal with) and made more improvements.
- I then noticed that while the article is centered around The area west of the Red River there is connectivity to the eastern banks after 1818 but before the Minnesota Territory, and this needs to be addressed.
- I also noted that the "St. Vincent" article appears to have a conflict of sorts. It concerns a man named Peter Grant that founded a post on the same spot in 1797 that Alexander built a fort. An outpost was just that and was outside a fort or post so any community that would spring up would be, a least in part, attributed to Peter Grant. - the way WP works nowadays, is that articles this incomplete would usually be deleted. To prevent this, as reviewing administrator, I moved this article to Draft: Charles J. Brown. It would be better to work on it there until it is reasonably finished; when it is, submit it for review and transfer to mainspace. If you need help with anything, ask me on my talk page. There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.
