This is ibdb, not iMdb. And Template:Imdb name already had this cat. Seems reasonable to me. But cats are added to templates via their documentation page - and that isn't protected. So, I have added it, with this edit (sorry about the edit summary fail). Chzz ► 06:19, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please use HTTPS URL for IBDB link[edit]

This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request.

The purpose of this edit is to provide increased privacy and security for users by having the template use an HTTPS URL when generating a link to an IBDB page. At the current time, the template generates an HTTP link. The IBDB site appears to support HTTPS; for example, the URL http://ibdb.com/person.php?id=55157 generates a series of three 301 Moved Permanently redirects that lead to https://www.ibdb.com/Person/View/55157. In the template, please change http://ibdb.com/person.php?id= to https://www.ibdb.com/Person/View/ instead. Thanks. --Elegie (talk) 11:42, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Linking error[edit]

Currently, this template creates an incorrect external link. For example, at Arielle Tepper Madover {{IBDB name}} links to https://www.ibdb.com/Person/View/21183,, which is a dead link because of the comma at the end, when it really should link to https://www.ibdb.com/Person/View/21183.
