Added Theory behind origin of Jared[edit]

I thought it wise to add this bit of info, as there has been some research into the Nephilim and Fallen Angels and such. The name Jared coincidentally came about during this time.

I also thought it would be a good idea to add a bit more to a "name page" then an expanded definition. Too many other websites do the same.

In order to list theories of this nature you would need solid, reliable sources and cite them. 216.165.151.13 05:06, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

Whenever I stumble upon this page, it is vandalized. Maybe name pages need semi-protection in general, as typical targets of these kindergarten kids? 64.131.248.59 05:53, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

American name[edit]

One of the signators to the Declaration of Independence was named Jared. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.211.195.52 (talk) 23:23, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It may actually be the U.S. Constitution, not the Declaration of Independence? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.211.195.25 (talk) 17:19, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"is very common across the Western world"[edit]

The name is almost unknown in European context, 10 of 11 persons I found listed in German WP were North-Americans plus only one Brit.

I think it's a very common American name, and I'll change the passage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.97.10.191 (talk) 02:30, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
