I removed the link to "antiques" because it's far more misleading that helpful--almost a "false friend." PRiis 06:24, 30 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I think that antiquarians are best described as historians rather than social scientists (especially since "social science" was only really emerging as antiquarianism was developing into more modern historical and archaeological investigation) --VivaEmilyDavies 02:57, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)
