Add Jordan Peterson[edit]

Jordan Peterson is certainly a notable person of this University. 78.49.172.175 (talk) 09:50, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done The current list in the main article is too long as seen in the hidden notes. Please edit List of University of Toronto alumni instead. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 13:39, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What is the criteria for being added to the notable alumni section in the article, or being relegated to the list article? Magnolia677 (talk) 17:08, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've had an interesting exchange on the Swarthmore College talk page about this. Small school, fairly highly ranked, and a bloated (?) list of over 650 notable alumni on its notables page. A portion of these are also listed on the main college article. Another editor had opined that inclusion on the main article should be limited to those who are also listed on Wikipedia pages for other languages (interwiki links), first setting this bar at 14 non-English wikis and now 25. While novel, I argued that this criteria has no bearing on actual notability, nor had I seen it used elsewhere. We entered a cordial reversion cycle. No one had offered further comment on his idea, so I suggested (as I do here, for UT) that notability factors should be listed, by category of professional life, with specific attainment levels to warrant inclusion on either the main article, or the 'notable alumni' article. @Jax MN: Not just on alumni articles, but on city articles too. The really important ones go on the main article, and the B-listers go on the other. If I had a Wiki article I'd be crestfallen to find myself on that "less important list". Magnolia677 (talk) 19:11, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Jordan Peterson is a very controversial individual (with indefinite semi-protection even), but a very notable individual nonetheless. I am unsure if an exception can be made and him being added or not to the main article. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 00:52, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Add NTU Ranking to the table[edit]

Result: Delisted per consensus. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 16:48, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Numerous uncited paragraphs, including most of the Notable people section and residences. Demographics section needs an update of the prose, and the history section needs an update of COVID-19 information (and I'd argue that it needs to be expanded to include many more significant events). Z1720 (talk) 01:58, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delist per citation issues and outdated demographics. This history section overall does seem lopsided, though I don't know if COVID-19 is due, unless it uniquely had a major effect on the university. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 07:44, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
