Untitled[edit]

This article was recently moved to Monkstown Dublin. It has been moved back here.

Please note that the format for Irish towns is first "Townname". If this is not available, or disambiguation is necessary, the format "Townname, County Countyname" is followed - except for Dublin where the city and county are too closely associated (we use "Townname, Dublin"). Any suburbs are at Suburbname or Suburbname, Cityname.

This is the current status quo for Irish town articles.

This simply wrong for places such as Monkstown, whose postal address is, and has always been, "Monkstown, County Dublin" ... so I'll move it back to that location. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 20:54, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Population[edit]

I have inserted the population from the 2006 census:

Greater Dublin Suburbs in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, Blackrock-Monkstown 3,062
Greater Dublin Suburbs in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, Blackrock-Seapoint 1,332
Greater Dublin Suburbs in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, Dun Laoghaire-Monkstown Farm 1,975

I used the Blackrock-Monkstown numbers above. Should Monkstown Farm be included.? The data can be obtained from CSO.ie --DubhEire (talk) 15:26, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I added Seapoint to the Monkstown figure making the population 6,369 --DubhEire (talk) 22:39, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

People[edit]

I deleted the entry for Gary Mason because it did not link to an article nor did it have a citation to a reliable source. Before restoring his name to the list, makes sure that it links to a valid Wikipedia article that establishes his connection to Monkstown, or in the alternative cites to a reliable source (or two) that establishes both his notability and his connection to Monkstown. Thanks. --Bejnar (talk) 10:14, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
