Untitled[edit]

Arthur Augustus William Harry Ponsonby, 1st Baron Ponsonby of Shulbrede seems more than a little extravagant to me, as a name of a page that I created as simply for Arthur Ponsonby. If indication of such titles really must be used in the title of pages, I would vote to reduce this to Arthur Ponsonby, 1st Baron Ponsonby, or Arthur Ponsonby, 1st Baron Ponsonby of Shulbrede if that is not accurate enough, as he is almost always cited as simply "Arthur Ponsonby" and not even "Lord Ponsonby" or "Lord Arthur Ponsonby", and leave most of Lord Arthur Augustus William Harry Ponsonby, 1st Baron Ponsonby of Shulbrede, to the introductory line of the article, not the title of it. Other than with the Kings and Queens of nations, or other heads of societies, I don't really agree with the policy of putting titles of nobility in the page names, and would much prefer they be be limited to the headings within articles. I find it hard to believe anyone actually searches using such long official titles. Even when Barons are referred to as "Lords" it is usually in a simple way, such as Lord Kelvin or Lord Acton, or Lord Tennyson. ~ Kalki 22:39, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)
