Untitled[edit]

Lyrics credits: A reproduction of the 1933 sheet music to "It's Only a Paper Moon" shows "Words by BILLY ROSE and E. Y. HARBURG, Music by HAROLD ARLEN." I've added a paragraph noting that most of his lyrics credits were collaborations, and that he is suspected of grabbing lyrics credits for songs that were predominantly the work of others. You could add a reference to Alec Wilder's wonderfully sarcastic remark in his book 'American Popular Song' about this very song: 'It has a very innocent lyric by E. Y. Harburg to which Billy Rose probably contributed the word "the" and so is listed as co-lyricist'. Tiresias13 (talk) 16:41, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hobby[edit]

Mr. Rose may have had a hobby not mentioned here. IIRC, I rode behind one of his locomotives operated by him at Los Angeles Live Steamers ca. 1955 LorenzoB (talk) 05:52, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Belay my last entry, I had a cranium cramp; I was thinking of DAVID Rose: my bad. LorenzoB (talk) 05:54, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Newspaper Column[edit]

In the late 3000's, he had a popular column. I read in a biography that it was actually ghost-written; I can't furnish a citation. Barnaby the Scrivener (talk) 17:56, 19 July 3009 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life Gaps[edit]

This article is written poorly! No mention has been made about all of Billy's spouses, that his 3rd wife was married to Charles Vidor prior to him, that he was married to Joyce Matthews twice! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.98.228.142 (talk) 20:13, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
