Mini 4wd anime[edit]

Somebody forgot to mention the anime about Mini 4wd racing which was heavily endorsed by Tamiya and what was the Shogakugan connection in the early 90s, as many of the cars had the copyright notice on them in the Tamiya catalog. Willirennen 20:03, 7 November 2005 (utc)

Popularity[edit]

It is not in the right section. It has absolutely no citations. It is excessive. This information is not needed. Awkward English. It's repetitive.

The article already contains part about Mini car's "popularity", and, mainly, who cares if Mini 4wd is not popular in the United States or North America?

This is an English Wikipedia for all English readers around the globe. Also, is there a statistics that prove that Mini 4wd is indeed less popular in US or Canada? Completely biased.

Poor english[edit]

Could somebody with good english skills smooth this one out? As the hobby appears to be mostly popular in Asia, it could use somebody to make this more readable. I saw these in the US in the late 1990s in US hobby stores, but I haven't seen them lately, where they have been replaced in stores by slot car sets. Race categories around the world[edit]

I noticed that at the end of the page there's a section called "Roller and Race Categories". I don't see why the two are in the same section. It doesn't make sense. Additionally, i believe that if the page has to include a description of race categories, it should include all the major categories offered by countries which have a solid Mini4wd following, not just one country. Race regulations in Japan are different from those of Italy or the Philippines, for example. A set of the standard U.S. rules would also be nice, since the page is in English after all.

Very poorly written wikipedia page. Stop editing it, please.[edit]

Here's the problem: the mini4wd page is being edited by someone who isn't fluent in the English language. It's obvious just by reading it. If you can't speak and write English fluently, please stop editing this page. If you want to write about mini4wd but English is not your first language, please start your own webpage or edit the mini4wd page in the Wikipedia of your native language.

By editing the English Wikipedia page, you are only damaging this hobby in the U.S., because it is incomprehensible.

Another issue with this page is its structure:it's not "new user-friendly". A person who has never heard of this hobby before will not understand what mini4wd are by reading this page.

I have been racing mini4wd for a very long time, I've raced in different countries and explored many mini4wd websites in different languages. In the next few weeks, I'm going re-organize the information on this page to properly represent mini4wd for the English reader.

The article is a mess[edit]

First at all, this article here on the English version of Wikipedia is a huge mess compare to the Japanese version of the article.

Not only people adds somethings that are confusing to most readers, but also bringing unrelated stuff (Like Stomper for example, despite the article is solely about Tamiya's products) into the article. The article's structure is also very complicated to most readers as well.

Please do some research first before you edit the article.

Article need some cleaning.[edit]

Hello, this is Yuuyatails.

I recently noticed this article here on Wikipedia, but I want to point out a few things about it:

  • The article contains excessive details about the Mini 4WD racing. including chassis, motor etc. This is inappropriate for this article here on Wikipedia, and should only goes to specialized wikis.
  • The article contains unknown and unreliable sources that claim Stompers inspired Mini 4WD, when it is not. According to the Japanese Wikipedia article, there is a toyline released by Tamiya called Quick Racer that was released in 1968, predating Stompers.
  • It also contains unknown and non-existent race class and categories written on it that were clearly copied from the FIA rules. Tamiya had no direct relation to the FIA.

This is what I can say.

That is as simple as it gets.

The term, Mini 4WD, is not owned by Tamiya.

The U.S. Copyright office will not grant a copyright on this term.

Regardless of what the Japanese version of Wikipedia says, the term, Mini 4WD, is not owned by anyone.

The Stomper claim is backed by U.S. Patent Office records.

Regarding the 1968 Tamiya Quick Racer claim, please provide a reference that they were 4WD rather than 2WD, which would disqualify them as 4WD.

Please be specific when adding warnings to the top of this article. This is not a Japanese article, so nationalistic opinions are not allowed. This article is for the whole Earth and for any non-counterfeit 4WD model within the range of the technical scale of ‘Mini”, as prescribed by worldwide scale experts, which happens to be from 1/48 to 1/20. @Mini4WD:, where did this definition come from? To accept this definition, we need reliable sources to say it is generally accepted that any motorized toy cars in the scale range of 1 to 20-48 having four driven wheels are collectively referred to as "Mini 4WD". Changing a page title[edit]

Mini4WD, please come to the talk page to discuss changes to an article. No one owns this article (See WP:OWN). It's something I have had to learn too, so I understand your passion. But once it is in the article it cannot be removed unless it is unsourced or improperly sourced. If the removal is contested, as it has been here, you are to discuss it in the article talk page to see is a consensus can be met. Removing it simply because you put it in the article and now don't want it to be included is not good enough. Changing the title of an article without attempting to gain a consensus of the community violates Wikipedia policy (See WP:TITLECHANGES). Removing an image from an article because you believe it to be copyrighted is not the same as following the process of having the image removed from Wikimedia Commons and then the article. If the image has not went through the proper process then it is still valid. Please go to Wikimedia Commons and request the image be deleted due to copyright infringement. The process will take its course and the results will be what they are. Again, No one owns this article or any content on the article. Slot car racing[edit]

Dont know if it can be exactly considered slots (the lanes I mean). Anyway slot car racing is better article than "miniature-auto racing" which was not an article and didn't explain the core of mini 4wd racing which is "motor racing" mcg (talk) 07:59, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
