I've heard a similar myth, but never told with events in that sequence. Shouldn't someone at least mention Ovid's Metamorphoses?

Potential inconsistencies[edit]

There are a few issues with this statement: "While Coronis was carrying Apollo's child, a (then white) crow told Apollo of the affair between Ischys and Coronis. Apollo was so angry that he glared at the crow (burning its feathers black) and asked his sister Artemis to kill Coronis".

1. Pseudo-Apollodorus talks about a raven and not a crow. Which sources has a crow?

2. What sources says Apollo glared at the crow so its feathers burned and it turned black?

3. Pausanias has it that Arthemis killed Coronis but Apollo did not ask her to do it.
