Lead Section[edit]

Following Wiki-prompting that attention was needed to the lead section, I've made an attempt at cleanup and also updated to clarify the series is now active and ongoing again. Any thoughts on this? --LittleGoatGod (talk) 18:19, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Real-life comics[edit]

Anyone know the date of the mini-series, some other comic series set entirely in the real world and without fantasy-type characters (read superheroes) (I believe Ghost World is, but i've not read it so i'm not sure), or anything about other Strangers in Paradises? The title's a quote, so I believe there's at least one other out there. I have a vague feeling there may be a song and possibly a play. AW

Ghost World is completely without superheroes. Terry Zwigoff and Daniel (?) Clowes made several changes from the comic book to the movie, esp. the introduction of Buscemi's character (as a means to avoid boy-band soundtrack that the studio wanted) but it is a completely possible story. I don't know about the rest. --KQ 12:10 Sep 3, 2002 (PDT)

OK, feel free to add it as an example of real-world, or i'll do it. As it turned out, there's not really much of a spoiler in the description I wrote - before I started writing it I thought there would be. I'll leave the spoiler warning in, though, because very minor bits aren't revealed from the start of the story (the one I can think of is the stuff about Darcy Parker). Feel free to remove if you think it's not needed. --AW

Umh... thanks for that contribution. Maybe you could name some of those countless comics? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.0.67.221 (talk) 11:27, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

I was thinking of moving this page to Strangers in Paradise. Pro/con? Marnanel 04:26, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)

It should be there---fans call it SiP. It's been listed at requested moves. grendel|khan 09:28, 2005 Feb 2 (UTC)
Not ll moves need to go to WP:RM. They only need to go there if the page can not be moved by a non-admin, ie. if the destination needs to be deleted before the move. This was not the case; the redirect page you wanted it moved to only had a single edit (the creation of the redirect). Moving on top of a single redirect edit is an act regular users can do. - UtherSRG 18:04, Feb 2, 2005 (UTC)

Why does user AdyCarter who works for a company called minimates keep removing SIP's mention of a toyline? He needs to knock of being a vandel!

I dont work for any toy companies, its my personal feeling that until these products are actually released or at elast officially solicited to stores they are non encylopedic, I could announce a toyline but it means nothing. Also please note that the above unisgned talk comment is by the owner of ShockerToys who has a long history of having entire Wiki articles removed as he views it as his advertising playground Adycarter 19:05, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I wish I were Shocker Toys but that isnt the case but you are good with IPs since I live in Niagara Falls. Anyways your opinion does not matter as these were all announced worlwide on the web as part of series1 of the 6" action figure line.

For the millionth time "I DONT WORK FOR ANY TOY COMPANIES". I still disagree that "intent to make an item" counts as encylopedic, hasnt ShockerToys just un-announced some of the figures you so proudly added to the Wiki? Its interesting that all your edits are ST related and you have exactly the same attitude as the last batch of ST "employees" who spammed Wikipedia. Adycarter 15:51, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but important info like this supporting Indie Comics should get a mention on Wiki. Just doing my job as a contributor not a bias other toy lover.

Okay then are you planning to promote Toy Biz's rival line too?. I havent noticed you making any comments on the MadMan page since Shocker lost the license to ToyBiz Adycarter 09:52, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spoiler tag[edit]

I've readded a spoiler tag around the Characters section, because it contains a number of major plot details which happen very late on in the series (and which I myself only read earlier today - if I'd read this article yesterday I'd have been a bit cross). The Plot section itself is pretty much spoiler-free, though. I hope this is ok. -- Nicholas Jackson 22:51, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia doesn't deal in spoiler tags. Lots42 (talk) 00:11, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
