Further comments should be made below the archived discussion rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was REDIRECT

I cant believe this article still exists! It was written a fair while ago, and no-one has added to it. What does everyone think? (User:Iamalegend)

  • Which will get deleted faster, an African Swallow or a European Swallow? Is there actually a type of swallow referred to as an african swallow? If so, could someone add details to this article, otherwise make it a redirect to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Darksun 10:54, 6 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Redirect to Monty Python and the Holy Grail alone. If people want to write an article on the bird, they can break the redirect free. Hasn't happened yet. Geogre 14:45, 6 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • There is no bird known only as the 'African Swallow'. Africa appears to have a lot of swallows. The European Swallow should not be deleted - it's another name for Hirundo rustica. Average Earthman 17:24, 6 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Agree with Geogre. Redirect. RickK 20:42, Nov 6, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Article needs to be expanded to mention laden and unladen airspeed velocities. If this information cannot be found, redirect as per Geogre. -- GWO 09:45, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • But the important question is, are they migratory? RickK 09:47, Nov 9, 2004 (UTC)
  • What do I think? I think it's odd when an article is VfD'd by the person who wrote it. Anyhow, delete. The Swallow article has a redlink to South African cliff swallow (Hirundo spilodera), and there's also an unlisted Hirundo domicella which is called a West African Swallow in English. I'm therefore unsure whether a redirect to Monty Python and the Holy Grail is the right thing. Perhaps make it a disambiguation page between Swallow and Monty Python and the Holy Grail? I can reasonably imagine people looking it up either to find out about swallows or to find the film reference, so I think this might be the best solution. Pnot 03:03, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • delete As an aside, there are dozens of species of swallow in Africa, and some of them are migratory. Sabine 05:03, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)
