Old talk[edit]

I removed the final paragraph. This is an encyclopedia, a compendium of knowledge--not a forum to tediously harp on the same ideas again and again. Try and keep to the subject at hand. Save the politicizing for another forum. Danny

This stuff _is_ also made in Germany, and AFAIK the original company (Der Lachs) and recipe did indeed move to Germany after the war. Certainly I have a bottle of Der Lachs Original Danziger Goldwasser which was produced in Germany (think I got it in Prague, although could have been Munich.) This is the only brand I've seen outside Poland. In Poland I've seen other Danziger Goldwasser brands (presumably actually still produced in Gdansk) along with Der Lachs. Note I am neither German nor Polish and don't have any political views on the matter, I just think from what I can find on the web that Der Lachs was the original producer and they did indeed move completely to Germany after the war. There is a good bit on it in the German Wikipedia but I don't really understand German, perhaps someone else could help out. -- Blorg 15:40, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the original "Der Lachs" Goldwasser is being produced in Germany. Me being German, I'll just translate the important paragraph from the German wikipedia here. "Danziger Goldwasser can still be purchased in today's Danzig, however it hasn't been produced there since the end of World War II. The original brand "Der Lachs" is now being produced and distributed by the Hardenberg-Wilthen AG in Nörten-Hardenberg (Germany). Goldwasser sold in Danzig is being applied a numbered customs badge of the "Ministerstwo Finansow RP Znak Akcyzy"". I could provide a picture of such a badge, however the ones on my bottles are ripped apart. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.16.81.82 (talk) 23:07, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Second this -- some information beyond "herbs and roots" needs to be given. //Blaxthos ( t / c ) 18:43, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I thought i would taste like 'Goldstrike', but it taste like crap compared to that. This has some herbal taste that i do not prefer. --82.215.56.151 (talk) 19:40, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Another photo[edit]

I recently shot a photo of a rather different Goldwasser bottle. Might need some cleanup (please upload extracted image under a different name if you do anything beyond reducing the reflection); might be another useful image for the article. - Jmabel | Talk 16:58, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Biblical Connection?[edit]

In Exodus 32:20, it is written that the golden calf was burned, ground to powder, and scattered in water. Then the children if Israel were made to drink it. Could there be any connection? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Terry Thorgaard (talkcontribs) 17:11, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
