Plot position experiment

OK, I'm using this page to start an experiment. I think it's really bad that we have the spoiler in the middle, both before and after information visitors who do not want to have the book spoiled may wish. I think it is far better to have an overview of the book, the external links, then finally the spoiler. This way, people who don't like having the plot spoiled can still read the article. Dude, I appreciate you contributing to Wikipedia, but the Plot doesn't belong at the end. We have the spoiler message to warn people about "giving away the goodies." If you feel strongly about this, you can start a discussion about it over at the Village Pump (probably in proposals or policy would be best). Interesting idea. I think you have a good idea, however there are some things that should always be at the bottom of an article like external links. The page should be consistant with all other Wikipedia articles, so Wikipedia doesn't look too patchy. With articles about novels however, there is not much to write other than the plot itself. Perhaps a better method, would be to provide a "dustjacket entry" at the beginning and then a plot spoiler later. That way a reader can get the essentials about the book similar to browsing in a library without having the plot spoiled. SDG 16:29, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I don't think that'd help. Casual browsers of Wikipedia wouldn't know what was meant by "section." For example, does section mean the entire article, the next paragraph or ...? We know what it means, because we are Wikipedia editors. But with that experience, we also know that the spoiler only pertains (usually) to one section anyway. But this spoiler discussion is for casual browsers of Wikipedia, who probably wouldn't be served by a "section specific" spoiler warning. — Frecklefoot | Talk 13:49, August 24, 2005 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Wyrms osc.jpg

Image:Wyrms osc.jpg is being used on this article.
