Continuing studies[edit]

I removed the sentence "(Not offered for 2006-2007 school year, however, due to shortage of interest)." after checking the school web site and can see no evidence of this to be the case. Appears to be vandalism. Can someone, or the editor of that line provide evidence to the contrary and I will revert. Apologies if edit was not vandalism. Rob 01:00, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Something we should include[edit]

I Found this story which i think should be included in the article, although I do not have time to do so.

Where's the alumni?![edit]

As a CHS alumnus, I find it striking that there is no section for notable alumni. Clements HS is supposedly one of the top-ranked public schools in Texas, if not the US, but there is, according to this Wiki, no notable alumni from CHS. This needs to be an area of focus. Counter Strike Map Controversy[edit]

"A student made a map of Clements High School. Two mothers saw their kids playing the map, reported it to the school administration the morning of the Virginia Tech incident, and the student was first suspended then expelled.

They claim he is a terrorist threat. Ironically, this map is more popular now than it ever was before the incident due to media coverage, some of which is either inaccurate or falsified.

He is fighting to get back into his original school and out of the alternative education school. Also, he wants to walk at graduation and get this incident erased.

Unfortunately, only three members of the school board are on his side, and one more is needed to win the fight."

Does anyone else think this should be included? And does anyone else have anymore information?

Feeder Patterns[edit]

I kind of doubt that the school district has explicitly endorsed a policy of trying "to maintain the student body of Clements High School to be predominantly upper-middle class."

The truth is that the school has a reputation - whether deserved or undeserved - of being the best high school on the district and thus there's a lot of demand for residential real estate zoned to the school. Houses in first colony are priced very high and typically don't last long on the market for this reason and typically the only people who can afford this real estate are wealthy buyers. Similarly, as First Colony and Avalon and Commonwealth have all built out, students from those new upper middle class homes that closer to the school have displaced students from poorer neighborhoods who are further away.

All of this means is that the composition of the student body has ended up being very much upper-middle class, but that's not due to school district policy, it's just a function of geography. Not to preach, but typically most conspiracy theories aren't as real as many people believe them to be.

I live in the Clements High School district. Pricy houses? Sure some of them. However, many subdivisions are quite reasonable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pschaeffer (talkcontribs) 05:35, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Largely uncited[edit]

Only abut 20% of the information on this page is cited. The websites provided offer little information in themselves. Harmelion (talk) 02:18, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Added reference citing the large Asian population[edit]

Well, the citation was found and added so the information about the notable Asian population was re-added. Joshua D. D'Lima (R) Texas (talk) 15:10, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not real sure how to do this. However, a bunch of the information in the article is wrong. Clearly posted by someone (anonymous) with an axe to grind. Clements ranks very, very high in the National Merit scholar rankings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pschaeffer (talkcontribs) 04:50, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mason Mckie[edit]

Mason Mckie was a teacher at this school. Why should he not be included? Wikiqazwsx (talk) 03:39, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's a WP:BLP violation to make an unsourced claim that someone has been arrested. A source was later added but the source did not mention his name, so it was still a BLP violation. Even had the source listed his name we wouldn't include this since it is considered a BLP violation to mention such such arrests until there has been a conviction. And finally, even if there had been a conviction we would not mention this since it does not involve the school. A former teacher has been charged, but there's no indication that a student was involved or that anything happened at the school or a school event. Meters (talk) 19:26, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Another source confirms that there were no students involved: "School officials said that law enforcement believes there were no local victims." https://www.fox26houston.com/news/former-clements-high-school-teacher-arrested-in-georgia-for-sex-trafficking Meters (talk) 19:40, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
