L. Ron Hubbard - Youngest Eagle Scout[edit]

That's kind of like saying someone was the youngest 12 year old. Each rank has a particular set period of time at which you must remain before advancing to the next rank. Overachievers advance to the next rank all the way to Eagle status on their first day of eligibility all the time. If he did it, he was one of tens if not hundreds of thousands. - Immigrant laborer (talk) 23:24, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Either way the source is very weak at best......a self claim. North8000 (talk) 01:08, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Primary sourcing[edit]

Whoever is reviewing this article should note the high amount of primary / non-independent sources cited and judge if all the content included is encyclopedic. Also, any information subject to change such as scholarship information needs to have an "as of" date (MOS:CURRENT). (t · c) buidhe 16:57, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what you mean by primary sourcing. When something is huge, decentralized and diverse, you can't lump everything with a relation to it into a monolith. For example, for the Human article, you wouldn't call everything written by a human to be a primary source. North8000 (talk) 17:09, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In this case, I mean sources that are published by Scouts BSA such as their official website, magazine, or press releases. (t · c) buidhe 17:27, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

First Thoughts[edit]

Thanks for nominating the article, DadOfTheYear2022! I'll take a crack at reviewing the article. After my first look, I suppose the citation needed tag at the end of the third paragraph of the history section relating to the first African American Eagle should be taken care of. It might be nice to have a close up picture of the Eagle Scout badge. -- Dolotta (talk) 15:24, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Dolotta, I don't think @DadOfTheYear2022: is active. This review has been sitting for a month now and DOTY hasn't edited since 10/4. I think it's time to close this. Etrius ( Us) 19:12, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah.... I agree. I've had it on the back burner for a while but a month is definitely enough time. I'll close it tomorrow when I have more free time and not nodding off at the keyboard. -- Dolotta (talk) 01:47, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

comment: I might pop in at times to see how this goes. I've been following this page for a bit and I'm glad to see it finally going through GA again. As an Eagle Scout myself, I hope to see this page make it through. I can see a number of maintenance tags and citation errors that need to be dealt with. Consider enabling hidden categories if you haven't, makes it much easier to catch these things. Wish you the best of luck, feel free to ping me if any help is needed. Regrets[edit]

Regretfully, no further edits have been made to speak of since the start of the review. It still needs a few additional references and possibly an additional photo or two. Dolotta (talk) 14:07, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Is it a rank or an award?[edit]

The lead is confusing. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:18, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
