Film Stefan Zweig: Farewell to Europe (2016)[edit]

I suggest adding the 2016 film Stefan Zweig: Farewell to Europe directed by Maria Schrader into either the existing Adaptations section or creating a new In Popular Culture section. Any opinions? - DutchTreat (talk) 14:08, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I was going to correct the year but then realized that it is not entirely clear (to me, on a very quick look) from the target article and its refs which is the correct year. So I have left it as it was for now, but would be pleased to see it confirmed. But yes, it is that film. I should also maybe add that I often wonder whether "In popular culture" sections are a good idea – I have seen articles where they act as a magnet for ill-advised entries, though of course it is not always the case ... best to all DBaK (talk) 09:16, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't place too much store in Rotten Tomatoes for release date details. The German article gives very specific release details for 2016. IMDb gives 2017 for the US release, which is irrelevant. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 10:14, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Michael Bednarek and DisillusionedBitterAndKnackered: My mistake! I see it listed in the "Adaptations" section. This usage suits my purposes. From poking around, I agree that release date of "2016" for the correct year for German original release. Note, I do see this on IMDB at the top of the page. Hangs in the air[edit]

The last sentence of the second paragraph under 'biography' hangs unconnected in the air. I have no idea how it is related to what has been stated before or what it adds to Zeig's biography. If considered important, it should be mentioned further down in the article under 'Works', when 'Der Judenstaat' is being elaborated on (which at this point it is not even mentioned).
