Disagree with merge; this would overload the Washington, D.C. article. However it might belong in History of Washington, DC. Massysett 19:09, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I weakly disagree with the proposed merger of this article, since there are articles on other defunct political subdivisions in the U.S. I more strongly disagree with the proposal to merge it into the main article on Washington, D.C.; the subject matter would be much better off in the article "History of Washington, DC". 216.214.103.34 18:38, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Disagree with merge. Washington, D.C. is already a pretty big article and this info stands well by itself. Carter 08:24, 21 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree with merge. Washington County, even if presently having been folded into the city of Washington, D.C. (something which the article makes clear is not certain under the legislation), had a historical independence and should be treated independently. Why shoehorn this information into a history of or main article on DC if it fits perfectly well here and can be linked to from both articles easily? Removing incorrect map[edit]

The map on this page depicts Washington County as including Georgetown which was a separate city. Also, the map includes streets and bridges that were built long after Washington County was abolished (e.g. I-66). --D. Monack | talk 00:29, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, looking closer at the map, it appears not to include Georgetown, so I won't remove the map from the article but my other criticism still holds. Could someone redraw it using an older street map that reflects what the streets looked like in the 19th century? --D. Monack | talk 00:34, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
