Untitled[edit]

incoherent text moved from article:

In ice hockey the designation becomes 1st Bundesliga as the additive used for the Ice Hockey Bundesliga (DEL), after during the DEL establishment without the designation "bundesliga" first one did and the second highest play class end 1990s used years this designation.

Chess[edit]

There's a chess Bundesliga too! Thought I'd add that as an interesting snippet. Some German Bundesliga sports clubs are in fact collectives of teams playing several different sports - I'm thinking of Werder Bremen who have both a football and a chess team - this could be in the article but I need to do more research. Many german sports clubs offer several kinds of sports. Football, Handball, Basketball etc. - Hullu poro

Winners[edit]

There shouldn't be Bundesliga winners before 1963/1964 because there wasn't any Bundesliga before this season. Before this, there was only German Championship which I think (but not 100% sure) was like the current 3rd Division, Regionaliga. Kingjeff

  • I have moved Bundesliga --> Bundesliga (disambiguation). I have not obeyed the rest of the requests (removing "Fußball-" from names), because (see Bundesliga (disambiguation)) there are Bundesligen in other sports and games, not only football. Discussion. (It would also be useful to provide a list of all the names of the "All articles like"). Anthony Appleyard 12:33, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • I've started another discussion on the subject at WikiProject Ice Hockey, of which I am a member. I'll let you know what the verdict over there is regarding this move. Thanks for you help so far, and sorry about the improper placing of this move request...it's my first time using this, JHMM13(Disc) 17:22, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • After a few days, there doesn't appear to be any opposition in the ice hockey WikiProject. It is important to note, as it was in the main discussion, that Serie A links directly to the soccer league even though there are other Serie As. This is because the most known Serie A is the soccer-related one. The same situation exists in Germany where by far most of the people searching for Bundesliga will be searching for the soccer league, not the hockey or basketball leagues. What do you think? • When I hear "Bundesliga" I immediately think "top level of German football". The only other Bundesliga I even knew existed (before reading this article of course!) was the Austrian Bundesliga - but I could easily find that through a link to the disambig page. I think Bundesliga should be moved to Bundesliga like the above proposal. ugen64 09:37, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wrestling[edit]

There is a Bundesliga for "team wrestling".

It has no article, at present: Bundesliga (wrestling)

User Intent for English BL page[edit]

While there are indeed numerous Bundesligen, the average English-language user wants football, and should be sent directly to the football-BL page. Perhaps Wikipedia has stats on the BL disambiguation page, and how often each listed link is clicked. (If the results are not overwhelmingly pointing to the football page, I'll happily retract this request. But I'd bet at least 2/3 of users want football.)

The German "Bundesliga" might point instead to the disambig page, but that should not dictate the path for the English version. Yasha1969 (talk) 22:00, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
