Radio Uranus was on 93.7 on November 18-19 1989[edit]

I have made a change to the Radio Uranus frequency in its November 1989 transmission from 97.7 to 93.7. originally it was stated as 93.7, and someone else had changed it to 97.7, but i am changing it back for the following reasons:

I listenned to the transmissions on both days,
Prior to any announcements, I thought that the station was Bay FM Geelong, which was due to commence broadcasting on 93.9 at some point in time, as it was on that part of the dial,

Hauraki not the only boat-based station?[edit]

Our article on BFM (radio) claims that station was also broadcast from a boat, conflicting with the claim here that Radio Hauraki was the only one. Does anyone know which claim is correct? -- Avenue 14:12, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They might possibly have broadcast for a very short time (an hour or so), but did not achieve anything like their intended 300 hour broadcast "the pirate station came to a premature end when the Mangawai was nearly wrecked on rocks at Okahu Bay" [1]. Okahu Bay [2] is on the city fringe and nowhere near the (then) three nautical mile territorial limit.

If the description needs any amendment at all it would be to add the word "significant" or "regular" to the description. Kiore (talk) 09:56, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Penrith Valley Bangaz[edit]

There's a lot of discussion on some forms about two pirates operating out of Penrith, possibly by the same guy. Though I can't find any third party sources, don't know what the go with this is as pirate radio stations generally cover their tracks up for avoiding being caught by the authorities. Penrith Valley Bangaz is known to carry some programming of a now licenced station Starter FM.

The station is known to have transmitted on 89.5 and 88.4 megahertz and could be heard all over the west of Sydney.

The station Does not seem to be active as of writing this (12/10/2020)
