Employee Facts[edit]

Tim burkhart isn't the general manager anymore, they've reorganized titles and he's manager of maintenance. Plus they have a new park president Bonnie Rabjohn http://www.abcnews4.com/Global/story.asp?S=13355925 quoted in this article. That's the top person at the park. the title general manager no longer exists in the six flags chain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.47.250.230 (talk) 00:32, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sloppy[edit]

Wildfires?[edit]

Now who would want to put a picture of Magic Mountain here with a wildfire in the background? This is so messed up, it could go in Wikipedia:BJAODN. Riffsyphon1024 06:13, 2 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I know, I agree... so I added it to BJAODN :-D --AlexTheMartian 06:30, Feb 2, 2005 (UTC)

I put it there[edit]

I put it there because its the only pic of Magic I have. I work there and my room mate took the picture. I think the picture is quite dramatic. And yes, all of the workers were praying for the park to burn to the ground.

Hey it is a cool picture, and its funny. I went to San Dimas High School only one freeway exit from Raging Waters water park in San Dimas.. so I can agree that they did wish for it to burn. Like any amusement/theme/water... the only people who hate it, are all the people working there, LOL --AlexTheMartian 07:34, Feb 2, 2005 (UTC)
but do you have any objections with whenever a better picture of the park is uploaded that it be used instead? --AlexTheMartian 07:36, Feb 2, 2005 (UTC)
LOL, I guess amusement park worker misery is universal. Ya, if anyone finds a better picture by all means, put it up. I'm new to the wiki-world and I am hoping to make this my first article. I added the ride list and I plan to start adding more stuff pretty soon once i learn all the tools. Btw, thanks for shrinking the pic, I wanted to do that but I don't know how quite yet.
You will learn with time, young apprentice. By the way, to sign your messages, type 4 ~'s.

And Alex, the new pic looks good. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:32, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Sky Tower?[edit]

Can we really say the sky tower is closed due to tatsu's construction? As far as I know it's been closed due to unknown reasons, long before tatsu came along.

Well's it's currently getting a new coat of paint and should open with Tatsu. ParticleMan 18:41, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I heard also that it would reopen, but I don't remember where. Any more news?--Mawfive 23:16, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's open. Timetrial3141592 01:23, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yea it has been open since at least May of 07, the last time I went there.

Removed text[edit]

I removed the following text as it is non-encyclopedic in its current form, being more of an editorial comment. It might be able to be re-written to a more formal tone:

Many local teenagers, parents, and families are in uproar about the proposal to close the theme park, and many are left to ask, what are they to do on hot summer days if the park is sold? The park is very famous, and contains many record-breaking thrill rides and world class roller coasters. The park has been featured in movies and television shows. Having recently beat Cedar Point's record for the most roller coasters in one park, Magic Mountain is the coaster captial of America. Thus, many are shocked and outraged at the proposal to sell the park.

Example: ME. I agree with those angry people. Even though I live on the othr sde of N America.

Waiting time[edit]

What do you think the waiting time will be for the big rides like goliath, riddler's revenge, etc. for a spring break visit this year?--MP123 05:37, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Park's Popular rides are Tatsu, X and Deja Vu, those rides will probably be more than an hour's line up in march. Everything else: an hour or less. So you should probably go on the popular rides at end or the beggining of the day.70.81.249.110 15:49, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures[edit]

Why are there no pictures of some of the roller coasters? --77.179.94.89 12:08, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I could fix that :D —Preceding unsigned comment added by Panda pepper39 (talkcontribs) 22:47, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

Added Amusement Park WikiProject template. Initial assessment is start quality, low importance. --Justin 15:59, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tone and Sources[edit]

This article is now on my list of articles to improve. I will address its tone (specifically in the latter part of the article), and it's lack of sources. Any help you all could give would be great. Lasdlt (talk) 04:15, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orient Express[edit]

The orient express isn't on the park's website. It is listed as an attraction on the park map, so it should be listed on the website, but it's not. Usually all rides (including transport rides) are still shown on the park's website.Wackyike (talk) 00:47, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The attraction is up and running. Show a bonafide, citeable source that an attraction has been removed before deleting it from a website. Absence from a park website tells us nothing, particularly since the website has conflicting information. As you and I have both stated — it is on the map on the website.JlACEer (talk) 17:00, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Parks usually don't announce the closure of smaller rides. Obviously there is a reason why it's not on the website. If it isn't on the website, then that is evidence the ride is gone.Wackyike (talk) 17:49, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
But it's not gone, I just rode it last weekend. Six Flags websites are not good sources for information, I find mistakes on them all the time.JlACEer (talk) 20:40, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
First hand accounts are not reliable sources. The park website is still considered reliable even if it does have mistakes.Wackyike (talk) 21:09, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want to continue this argument. You and I both know the attraction is still there. The website conflicts with itself in that the map shows it is there but it is not mentioned in the list of attractions, thus proving the website is not a reliable source. Having it drop off the website tells us nothing — except that the webmaster is careless. If you want to remove it from wikipedia, find a citeable source that says the attraction was removed from the park.JlACEer (talk) 04:33, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Picture?[edit]

In the 2007 - Present section, the first picture that is posted here has a caption "Magic Flyer Roller Coaster", yet the image looks like a kiddie train ride in the Thomas Land themed area. Shouldn't this picture be fixed or removed, as its the wrong one? Aidensdaddy2k9 (talk) 05:15, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The picture is correct. That is a very old Bradley & Kaye children's coaster that now has a locomotive front car. See RCDB.com for more photos.JlACEer (talk) 14:23, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Okie dokie then. Aidensdaddy2k9 (talk) 20:59, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Underground Tunnel[edit]

@JlACEer: You mentioned that tunnels may be above ground, and I understand that's a possibility, but generally not true. Are there tunnels at Six Flags Magic Mountain that are above ground that could confuse the reader? If not, the distinction isn't necessary. Leitmotiv (talk) 17:15, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
