I guess I have to question whether "ultimate bungalow" is a real term in general use in architectural history or commentary. For instance, a Google search on "ultimate bungalow" finds fewer than 700 online uses, including this article, and many uses where it is used to make a zippy title or description, rather than as an identifying term. In contrast, "craftsman bungalow" finds 77,000 online uses. That would be a good title for an article, in which this could be a component, explaining what seems to be essentially a related slang usage. - Kevin Matthews, editor in chief, ArchitectureWeek

I'm no great wiki expert, but it would be worth mentioning here that these are very common in Melbourne Australia. my understanding is they were adapted from Indian Bungalows - but the reason for the popularity is returning WW1 soldiers were able to get assistance building homes and the cal bung was they design offered offered - with many variations. I would not be surprised if in places like Preston (a suburb of Melbourne) in 1980, of 50%+ homes were cal bungs dating from the 1920-30s. redirectify?[edit]

Can we make this a redirect to Bungalow#California Bungalow? This article is essentially a watered-down version of that one, with many of the same images, sources and facts. The main article suggests this is a particular type of bungalow, but this article doesn't come anywhere near close to explaining this. Daniel Case (talk) 17:20, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article needs alot of work for sure. However, a California Bungalow is a highly notable and specific architectural style from the 1920s, especially in Australia which would warrant its own article at some stage. I don't know enough about both to sort it out, but might give it a go. Need to think on what goes where..but my first impression is that it'd not be a good move to merge.Casliber (talk · contribs) 19:52, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  - Sorry, that was my fault. I thought it would be more correct because you wouldn't have an "Australia bungalow" or a "Germany bungalow".
