Pedophilia or just homosexuality?[edit]

The plot summary claims Violet Venable wants to lobotomize Catharine to "cloud the truth about her son's pedophilia and death," but isn't she just trying to keep people from knowing that he's homosexual? The ages of the "boys" Sebastian wants to attract are never mentioned specifically, I believe. If I remember the play correctly, Sebastian wanted to bring Catharine because he thought the "boys" would be attracted to her; this implies that they're at least capable of sexual feelings and therefore not prepubescent children. I think a lot of the themes of this play center on the societal shame and prejudice connected to homosexuality, and it seems that other people think this because this article is labeled as part of Wikipedia's LGBT Project. If this is the case, the word "pedophilia" should be changed to "homosexuality," as they are completely separate concepts. --Frankgorshin (talk) 22:35, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
