Freemasons[edit]

There is no such thing as the "Prime Ministerial Crest". The dinner service has the Australian Coat of Arms on it.

I have changed "Prime Ministerial family" to "Prime Minister's family" to reflect Australian usage.

Are there really forty rooms?

The photograph of Mrs Hawke is obviously reversed - observe the piano!

Grand old lodge[edit]

Like the opening of our parliament, and the home of the prime minister, “Freemason's rule the country”, (Simpsons- Mr Burns Casino). How ever, the Monarch rules the land, builder's build. People work, priest's pray, and Freemason's are free to do as they will as it is the law. I have read that the plumbing was faulty, the roof was leaking, there was asbestos and ..... it sounded like someone had put off renovations for decades because they'd take a long, long time. Julia Gillard finally bit the bullet and signed up for the renovations. There was a bit of revenge involved, because she knew the ALP would lose and she could deny Tony Abbott his place in the Lodge for a while. It is still going on, and nobody says, it'll be finished next week. You know how it is when you have to renovate something in that style, there's a snag around every corner. Check Date[edit]

The article lists that kitchen renovations occurred under Whitlam in 1977. Whitlam was dismissed in 1975. Either the date is wrong, or the article should list Fraser as the resident of the lodge. is somebody able to verify? 203.26.235.14 (talk) 11:44, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

I don't know of any other Australian places called "The Lodge", but when anyone thinks of this Lodge, they think not of Australia generically but of Canberra specifically. Similarly, the White House has an association with Washington, not the USA at large, and 10 Downing Street is in London, not England or the UK.

I suggest it be moved to The Lodge (Canberra). -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 20:46, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Two of the images in the article are contradictory. Either the plants in the foreground throw their flowers in exactly the same location year after year or one (or both) of the photos is misdated.
