Does this category include actors known for work in radio/other audio-only media, or is it limited to voice acting with a visual component, as animation and so on? --Paul A 04:06, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Both. See the main article, Voice actor. knoodelhed 04:30, 20 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Radio actor category[edit]

Just so folks know, I recently took the liberty of starting "Category:Radio actors." I'd been adding pages for a good many radio actors, one or two who had done notable animation voice work but many of whom had not or did no acting outside of radio. This coupled with the fact that performers like Jack Benny and so forth were radio actors without necessarily being *voice* actors, seemed to cry out for a new category. Hope I didn't step on any toes, but it struck me as useful: All names in radio actors obviously worked in radio. Only a handful of those in "voice actors" have worked in radio, outside perhaps of commercials. Aleal 03:29, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Voice actor" - is an ugly phrase. I think that the terms "voiceover artist" is more frequently used in the trade. "voice actor" leads to problems in the national characters. Is "British voice actor" an actor of British voices, or a voice actor who is British? Jooler 10:44, 17 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • "voice actor" is the term used in the industry. there is no such thing as a "british voice", same as "american voice", as accents are regional.

Help! Garbage?[edit]

The pages about seiyūs and voice actors are being deleted in the portuguese wiki as fast as wind and here is not. Why? Those pages aren't important to a encyclopedia? Could someone talk with them about this? They say those pages are not relevant... Here there are even templates only for this. --200.103.115.102 14:32, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
