Just curious, why is this part of the Manitoba project? The main page has no reference to Manitoba. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.78.2.200 (talk) 03:22, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is this map rather distorted, or are the islands really this elongated? -- ~~

I believe they are that elongated. - Montréalais

What is the correct pronunciation of Belcher? Is it a french or english word?

english, cf Edward Belcher. --Eisbaer44 (talk) 21:37, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Belcher Island murders[edit]

The section on the murders appears to be, almost verbatim, lifted out of reports from 50 years ago. The language is journalistic in tone. It is presented with a great deal of opinion and this makes big chunks of it unsuitable content for an encyclopedia article. Most of it can be removed to focus on the facts only and leave out those details that have nothing to do with the Belcher Islands. There is a fascinating list of sources about the character, geology and wild life of the islands but nothing about this in the article (??)--AssegaiAli (talk) 13:17, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with AssegaiAli. I suggest moving virtually all of the material about the Belcher Island murders to a new article, with only a passing reference and link to it left here. Xenophon777 (talk) 04:36, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Given the lack of dissent, in the next few days I will make the move suggested in my 12Feb08 post (above) unless there is objection. Xenophon777 (talk) 13:13, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cut the section as WP:OR, non-WP:RS and WP:UNDUE. Seems to have been a copy of the anon's research project as stated - even included an e-mail address for contact. Vsmith (talk) 02:42, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

George Weetaltuk[edit]

George Weetaltuk deserves an article all to himself! I am unworthy since I know so little about him or the Belcher Islands, but I'll eventually write one if nobody else does.Arrecife (talk) 06:35, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
