Species[edit]

What evidence do we have that Opus is a King penguin, and not an Emperor penguin? (Not trying to pick a fight here, just wondering....) Opusaug 15:19, 23 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I think he might be a puffin. puffin penguin (note beaks)
The puffin/penguin resemblence was once pointed out in the comic, in fact. However, everyone seems to agree that Opus is indeed a penguin. Wyvern 18:17, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
According to his back story he is from the Falkland Islands, the Emperor Penguins is not native to the Falklands, but the King Penguin is. Puffins are native to the Northern hemisphere only. Mediatech492 (talk) 16:17, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Kirkpatrick[edit]

Insane as it is to suggest in an article about a cartoon penguin, the edits by 159.71.254.248 appear to be out of place. Refer to the Bill the Cat page for information about the Kirkpatrick "relationship". The teleprompter remark is (I can't believe I going to say this) senseless editorializing. Opus's name[edit]

Opus has been in all my cartooning post Academia Waltz. I mean the death of Opus literally, as told in the comic, which means the suspension of the feature (no dates set as of yet). Newspapers may indeed fade from our lives, but childrens’ books may yet have a future.

Yes, but my wife would leave me, she reports. I have to factor this in.
Do your publisher and newspapers know this?
They know that all good things come to an end. I’d like to see Opus go out with George Bush, both headed into the sunset.

Really? I've read the series from the beginning and never heard this.

Penguin lust being an allegory for homosexuality is opinion. It was an absurdist tool indicating the ridiculous ways that people rile themselves up and more closely parallels Red fever (communist fears) prolific during the closing days of the Cold War when this strip ran 192.155.59.82 (talk) 19:17, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
