The Jerky Tapes

This is listed as a compilation, and not a Studio album - which I believe is incorrect. The Jerky Tapes was released in 2001 (after all other albums) with completely new material. Some of the calls were related to tracks from Stop Staring At Me! (i.e. Silverman Baby!) - but they had never been released before. It seems to me like more of a "B Sides" album. I'm not 100% sure - but it appears that it was released by Johnny on his own after the split (kind of like Kamal's ill-fated Once A Jerk, Always A Jerk release).

I agree with you, The Jerky Tapes should be a studio album rather than a compilation. The performers are listed as "The Jerky Boys," and both of the guys (Johnny & Kamal) are making the calls. Sundevilesq 00:34, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

December 2006 Cleanup

I did the best I could cleaning up this article (with the scarce references I could find on the web), and adding a complete discography. Any help (particularly in the Intro section) will be appreciated (properly sourced, of course, Jerky!)! Sundevilesq 23:33, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

I saw that, but I couldn't find an independent source that referred to the Subjectivist League. Can you find one? If so, let's add it back in. Sundevilesq 01:35, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

I'll take a look... I know they were called that from personal experience. I bought an LP around 1992 that just said "The Subjectivist League" on it and it was the Jerky Boys, although that was before anybody had heard of them. Subjectivist League

A new editor has added the Subjectivist League as the 1st Jerky Boys album, and has also added an unreferenced/uncited statement regarding same. As the above discussion with Chowbok shows, there is OR that the Jerky Boys were known as "The Subjectivist League" initially, but that is ALL there is at this point - just OR. I credit Chowbok for not adding it in the article, and I believe the new edit should be reverted back (unless the editor can cite references to the Jerky Boys = Subjectivist League). Thoughts? In a March 2007 interview referenced in the article, Brennan spoke about "the Tube Bar" tapes, but made absolutely no mention of the "Subjectivist League" when discussing the JB's early years. Are the Tube Bar tapes related to the Subjectivist League? Sundevilesq 06:16, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

I just did some research, and located the webpage of the record company that originally released The Subjectivist League LP. http://www.scatrecords.com/discog.htm Scroll down to #29 and you will see it credited as the 'Jerky' LP, released February 1993. I just played the LP, and there is no doubt it IS The Jerky Boys! The Tube Bar Tapes have absolutely no relevance to The Jerky Boys other than being a major influence on prank callers everywhere. Rosine

I agree. There's nothing in the calls or on the album artwork to indicate that Rosine is anything BUT a female character. I had edited out the "gay male" reference before, but someone reverted. Can we get a consensus and change it? Sundevilesq (talk) 08:29, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Regular Characters

Should this list be narrowed down some? It seems like there is a lot of characters listed here that were infrequent or only appeared once or twice. If it's to be a true list of the "regular" characters, I think it should only include characters like Jack Tors, Frank Rizzo and Sol Rosenburg, who made multiple and frequent appearances on all of the albums. Whatcha think, sizzlechest?

Lou Gitano

On the first Official Jerky Boys release, the Jerky Boys are listed as Johnny B., Lou Gitano, and Kamal. Was Lou Gitano the original Kissel or Anthony? To my ear, the Kissel on the first album and Kamal's Kissel sound different. Was the history of Lou Gitano erased much the same that Mr. Brennan has tried to do to Kamal? "Ringing up"?? Shouldn't this be "Calling"? This article is about an American act, and therefore, British English should be avoided. I won't make any changes, but I'm just putting this out there. Jbossbarr

Allusions/Family Guy
