Karl Bartos on vocals[edit]

I don't know who the anonymous login-less moron is who keeps vandalising this article. Please stop, eh?

Karl Bartos sang lead vocals on Der Telefon Anruf ("The Telephone Call")

This can be easily checked by:

(a) LISTENING to it (his different vocal sound is quite obvious in comparison with Ralf or Florian)

(b) reading books such as "Ich war ein Roboter" by Wolfgang Flür, or Pascal Bussy's Kraftwerk book.

This could also be verified by listening to Karl Bartos's own album Communication, in which he sings on some tracks. It is clearly the same voice that sings The Telephone Call. -#371

Merge English & Spanish release's tracklists?[edit]

Tracklist for 2009 Techno Pop[edit]

Concerning the section on the 2009 re-issue version of the album only, should this list dispense with Side One/Side Two subheadings to acknowledge that vinyl is now no longer the primary format for supplying recordings to the market? The wikipedia articles for other albums issued during the 'digital' era don't use them (The Mix, Tour de France Soundtracks) yet these albums were also issued in vinyl form. No accent on the title?[edit]

The cover art doesn't display an acute "é" on "Cafe", but for some reason the article does? For the sake accuracy, the accent should be omitted. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 20:17, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's just one of those typographic conventions - a lot of fonts don't have accents on capital letters. But wikipedia articles don't reproduce the typography of album artwork, they just use the actual name. There's no such word as "cafe", it's "café" - however it's printed as CAFE on the album cover. Likewise the bandname does not appear in the article in blcok capitals. --feline1 (talk) 22:30, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Four years later, and nobody else has contested this or even commented. Unless WP's technical trickery kicks in, I'm moving this article myself—right now. A typographic convention ("Café" → "Cafe" for accuracy) is not the same as going against WP:MOS by verbatim reproducing case (e.g. "KRAFTWERK"). Fairlight CMI and modular synths[edit]

Kraftwerk never used modular systems on any of their recordings - the only modular unit was Doepfer A100 which was used by Florian on tour'98. Fairlight CMI also never existed in their arsenal. Release date? This is wrong[edit]

I bought this album at the end of October 1986 (in the UK). It had been out at least a week. It must have been out earlier still in other territories.

Is this a bootleg version of Techno Pop?[edit]

  • Comments – but the front cover does not have an accent; simple as. That a myriad of books and sources have retroactively introduced it should not be grounds to do away with accuracy when displaying the title on WP—the front cover is right there, in plain view, and has no accent. It's not like WP has retroactively introduced an accent to articles like The Cafe, "The Cafe", or World Cafe, just because "café" is a French word, or based on some hazy guidelines on WP:FRMOS.   • Oppose – the lack of acute accent on the all-caps title on the album cover is easily explained by the typographical convention of omitting accents from caps. Comment – But the printed material chose to spell it without an accent, so why shouldn't we? By that exact logic you've pointed out, "À Tout le Monde" (which does not have an accent anywhere on printed material), should follow said typographic convention and omit the accent, as it falls on a capital. As far as I know, WP has not decided to follow that particular typographical convention. If it were universal, the capital-A-with-grave-accent wouldn't even need to exist, and we wouldn't be talking about that one. The latter I know, but in this case the primary source differs visually to that of the "reliable" secondary sources—the latter have retroactively added content that simply was not there; something which does not fall under WP:MOSTM.
