Note on Elizabeth Bartley[edit]

The character, Elizabeth Bartley, is based off Elizabath Bathory, but she isn't the same person. Eric42 00:19, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Actually, she is. Her Japanese name is エリザベート・バートリー. The phonetic can be translated to "erizabe^to ba^tori^" which means Elizabeth Báthory. The Japanese manual even notes that "Elizabeth Bartley" is over 300 years old, just like Elizabeth Báthory would be at the time Bloodlines takes place. Another obvious point to that fact is her connection to ドロテア・ツエンテス or Dorothea Szentes (just like with "Elizabeth" instead of "Erzsébet", they don't use "Dorottya", the Hungarian version of the name) who was a servant of Báthory in reality. Music style[edit]

The musical style in this game really is no different to that of the other titles in the series. Mozart certainly never used bass guitars, drum kits and pop/rock sensibilities as heavily as Michiru Yamane did here - and it's not like they're just ornamentation; they play a large role in the music itself. There is of course a baroque edge to the music (and a bit of rococo), but that's pretty much been there throughout the entire series.

I'm for simply removing the paragraph altogether, but I don't want to erase somebody's hard work without discussion.--Gwilym 20:59, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fan speculation[edit]

"Some fans have speculated that Eric is the bastard child (or more accurately grand child or great grand child) of Alucard and Maria Renard, although this is the only evidence that they have any connection whatsoever."

Does this sentence really merit a mention in the article? NighTrekr 20:51, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No. This article reeks of fandom. user:pzg ratzinger
I just saw the sentence in question and am thinking about removing it. Any objections from other users? --SoledadKabocha (talk) 07:20, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia: Blood and Gore[edit]

This game DID have blood and gore, but small amounts of it. I don't think it should be mentioned that it was odd that this game got a GA rating. The Mature Audience 13+ one would have probably been a little extreme for the small amounts of blood in this game.

Intro paragraph[edit]

Atrocious paragraph is atrocious.

Even though Australia shares the PAL format with Europe, Sega Ozisoft (Sega Ozisoft at the time before it became Sega Australia), didn't think that Australia needed a censored European verion, so Sega Ozisoft released Castlevania: Bloodlines uncensored with permission by Konami Oceania.

Not only do I need to not explain the part in bold, but there are absolutely no sources for this.

I also took out a sentence about the possibility of this game being released on Virtual Console. Show me a reliable source for this apparent fact, and I will retract my edit.
